I thought this was kinda relevant. Especially since the man couldn't pay child support. |

Worked in North Charleston today. All the protests were very peaceful. I hope that continues. A horrible tragedy for all involved. Glad to see that there's not much else crazy going on to feed the media frenzy. Maybe they'll leave.

So having a rap sheet for past things makes it ok to taze and pull a guy out of his house for no reason?
The complaint was for someone else and this guy didn't fit the description of who was complained about. The police were even told that they had the wrong guy and he continued to get tazed. Fairness has nothing to do with that. I'm not saying the guy is a saint,as I don't know anyone involved but that night the cops were in the wrong.

Wrong guy. Look at what I quoted. In reference to the murder charge don't be surprised if it's reduced to manslaughter or if the officer is found not guilty. He followed his departments protocol to the letter right up until he wrongfully chose to shoot Mr. Scott. He didn't set out to murder him. The deceased refused to comply to normal commands by running from the officer so the taser was threatened and then eventually used. As we know from the original video the taser failed. Through the trial we will eventually find out what happened in between the 2 videos. I'm willing to bet it was one hell of a scuffle. That doesn't aquit the officer of all wrongdoing but it does add another element to the case that most won't admit. I'm not pulling for the officer but he has the best defense lawyer in our area, maybe in the south. Andy Savage is known around here for getting everyone off scott free. The officers original lawyer quit once he saw the video but old Andy jumped at the chance to represent him. Here's a link that sheds a different light than what the left and right media has been showing. This site is known locally for having inside scoops and knowing information more accurately and more quickly than the rest of the local media.http://charlestonthuglife.net/2015/0...-developments/

Think of this...if any one of us happened to get jumped my a homeless guy who wanted to rob us...with or without a weapon, and we pulled out our concealed weapon that we were licensed for...and the homeless guy ran off because he was scared...we would all go to jail for murder if we shot him in the back 1, 2, or 10 times.
On another note...when I had my 2007 Z06...I was being tailgated at about 9:30 at night. I took off a bit...but nothing crazy. I get to a stop sign, take a right and slowly pull away. The vehicle that was tailgating me also took a right at the stop sign so I decided to nail it...but only up to 84 mph. When I slow to take my turn into my neighborhood, the car that was tailgating me came up on me incredibly fast and his headlights seemed like they were in my rear hatch area. When he did that I decided not to turn so I wouldn't lead him to my house so I continued straight. I got another 50 yards or so and was about to show him how fast that Z was when he turned on every blue light that was on his Tahoe...AND the one behnd him. When I pulled over and got out...the cop told me it had been a long time since he had been 160 mph. I knew it wasn't going to be good as soon as he said that but I told him there was no way I was doing 160 mph...but never told him I knew I got up to 84. When I told him I wasn't traveling that fasthe said, "Well I had to do 160 to catch you!" I knew at this point there was no reason to try and have a battle of wits with someone who was so unprepared, but I insisted that I wasn't doing 160. With that being the only thing I ever said to him, he grabbed me, spun me around, and began to put handcuffs on me. I am pretty sure I laughed aloud just a bit and was almost HOPING this was about to happen. Both of us looked back at the other officer who was shaking his head "NO" to the officer that was putting the cuffs on me. He instead starting writing a ticket for 60 mph in a 55 mph zone. After a few calls THAT night...the ticket was thrown out. It just amazes me how the slight bit of power can go to someone's head. I see it all the time in the military...someone gets enough rank where they think they are untouchable and they do whatever the heck they want to do...AND ARE SURPRISED WHEN THEY GET IN TROUBLE! Come on man! There are undoubtedly way more good police officers and Soldiers out there than there are bad, unfortunately, the bad ones are those that are more likely to make the news.

A reduction to manslaughter also wouldn't surprise me, police like to pile on as many charges as possible and at higher levels than actual events to help with the plea bargain aspect. I think the arrest was what was needed in this case and let the jury decide the outcome. If for no other reason than to hold people accountable for their actions, no matter what type of clothing or uniform they wear.

Will officer Slager do time for murder?

You can question the cop all you want, but I would question him and do what is asked at the same time. Wouldn't resist in any way. And these things you are seeing about cops yelling random orders, I'm positive it's after a chase, or having to keep repeating his first order and the person not listening in the first place. BTW, I'm not siding with any of the cops in this thread, I'm just talking in general. I believe all the cops in this thread deserve a severe ass beating and some life in prison, or death penalty, whatever the max in their state allows.
