I'll go on record as saying I don't care how many BBC functionaries Clarkson pokes in the snoot.

He's funny and that's why I like him. I don't have to be near him. I don't have to talk to him. I don't need to smell him. Top gear is a well produced interesting TV show and it makes me laugh. Now get the show back together and get on with it. I don't care if Clarkson and producers are friends or not. Just dance for my pleasure. Chop chop!

Does that make me contradictory? Then so be it I am contradictory. I am vast; I contain multitudes.

I see your point.

Me? I can't help judge a celebrity or athlete by how they behave. There are certainly a lot of actors in great movies I won't watch anymore simply because all I see is the "racist" or "wife beater", etc. Even if he/she is funny and has 10 academy awards, I lose interest.

That being said, their lives are public. Most of the people I hang out with and work with, it's merely my assumption they are good people......and I hope I'm right.

It could be that Clarkson is bored and actually wants out. The show has been around a long time, he goes around the world and maybe now it's grating on him at his age.

Aaaand from that article, I'm sure this will help his case...

Quote:
On Thursday night, he [Clarkson] launched an expletive-laden broadside against the corporation's executives, who he claimed are about to sack him.
I think the writing is on the wall. I personally wouldn't miss him, and I don't care about the franchise's success/failure without him. I can understand the enthusiasm behind it, but I believe the petition will turn out to be a useless gesture in the end.

The other two presenters- who are best friends with each other and Clarkson- have stated that they will not be renewing their contracts with the show. All three contracts expire at the end of this month.
