I'd buy another one of these even if GM went to 3yr / 36k miles.
But SHHHHHH. Don't tell GM.... I love my car. Until I don't.

IF GM would've said that they're lowering the warranty to pay the U.S. Workers better that's working on the new Camaro, maybe , I would've been happy ! Would've made much sense!

I used the Powertrain warranty at 99,000 mile to repair the well documented oil pan/front cover leak. Yes, that would have been a BIG deal w/o the warranty.
103K on the '10 SS currently. 292K on the '07 Sierra company truck. All reflects on how GM's drivetrain quality is perceived. If they are, indeed building a quality product, the 100K mi. warranty should only make them look even more confident in their product, therefore generate more sales. Honda and Toyota don't need a "wow' warranty, because customers are confident in the quality of their product. GM still has to earn that reputation in certain areas.

You guys are all missing the point.
We here are a very, very, very small portion of GM customers. What do we have? 40,000 member of this site. Compare that to the 500,000 Camaros sold and then to the millions of cars and trucks GM sells each and every year. The customers have spoken and they have said, "no, your 100,000 mile warranty does not impact my decision to buy your new vehicle". Does that mean no one cares? Of course not. I would prefer a b2b warranty that covers everything as long as I choose to own the vehicle. Is GM foolish for not offering that? No, of course not. Yes, if you buy any product a longer warranty is certainly better. But when making a decision the key is "is your warranty the same as others I am considering?". In this case, yes. What none of us see is the big picture behind the curtain. A 100,000 mile warranty costs GM MORE $$$ than their key competitors, Honda, Toyota and Ford. And offering more mileage was not getting GM any more sales or profits compared to those competitors. The customers have spoken and this is a non-issue. The problem is that general problem where "we" assume that we represent all the other customers. So I agree, for some this matters. There just aren't enough of you buying GM cars and trucks because of the 100,000 mile warranty to change the data.

In the US Dodge Challenger has 5/100K powertrain warranty in Canada we have a 5/100KM so we get the short end of the stick.

Don't get me wrong. I don't like seeing the warranty go down either. I'm just making the case that GM as a business has to be competitive. Having the best warranty is an unnecessary cost, as proven by competitors with less inclusive or shorter warranties.
