It is even more bitter cold here. Roads are worse today than yesterday. Several interstates are completely shut down, tons of wrecks, power outages, & most everything is shut down. The sun has come out so it is really beautiful. Looks like glitter everywhere, but with the temps around 15 nothing is melting at all. Glad our office had the good sense to close which is actually surprising. More snow expected tonight, only about an inch but with temps on the negative degrees and the stuff we already have not melting that is all it will take to keep things shut down tomorrow too. Can I say CABIN FEVER????? We are okay though. We have not lost power & are well supplied. HAGD everyone.
Thanks Jan. BTW, your weather made our news. Looks like you are in for more winter crap.

Norm
Thanks Norm.

My wife has completed a full week at her new job. I am so happy she likes the new employer. She is a much happier person now. Hate it when she is not happy.

Oh, and it only reached the high 70's here today.

Good morning crew. We got about 2 more inches of snow in the wee hours of the AM so another snow day for me. Hoping the sun, despite temps in the teens, will clear roads enough that my daughter can make it here to see me today before she has to try to head back to Florida. I am ready to get out of the house but since I had no clients scheduled today & only a phone supervision scheduled, I saw no need to try to get out in this mess. I am getting a bit of cabin fever but not badly enough to get out yet. I plan to try to make it to Nashville tomorrow but if roads are bad Mike will take me in the truck. Happy Hump day everyone. Added some pics of the additional snow.

I'll take a few hours of that dry heat right now, if I can confine it to my garage. The cold side connector to my hot water heater sprung a pinhole leak a few hours before I discovered it around noon yesterday. Fixed the problem yesterday but the evidence remains . . .

Happy Hump Day gang.

What are home prices like in the Peoria area? And property taxes? Small home, two bedroom, it's just hubby and I, so I'm curious to what the prices are like. Nothing fancy, look'n for our final resting place. LOL

Home prices run the gamut here. However, there are many retirement communities here to check out. Trilogy is in my master planned community and prices run from the $160's to the $400's for 2 to 3 bedroom homes. Check out Sun City and Sun City West.

Sun City has been here since the 60's and features older single level, well kept homes. If you google Sun City, you'll receive lots of info. Sun City West is a much newer section with new amenities. Lots of car people live there too. The Sun Cities are between Peoria and Surprise.

I am not familiar with taxes in Boston, but they are probably similar to where I am from, Baltimore, MD. Property taxes out here are much less as is income tax. However, sales tax is much higher here, but Sales tax in Sun City is less than in Peoria. There are no schools in Sun City.

If you happen to find an address here in the west valley that interests you, I can go check it out when I have some free time. But I highly recommend you and hubby spend some time out here before living out here. AZ is not for everyone, but winters here can be intoxicating. Summer can be brutal if you cannot tolerate the heat. I have adapted to it.
