The Porsche 918 and McLaren P1 are both amazing cars. I just wish both companies used an ICE only and not get electric motors involved. As stated above, electric motors add unnecessary weight and complexity. Koenigsegg recognizes this and proves the electric motor wrong when you consider the performance of the Agera R and One:1. Porsche, McLaren, BMW, etc. are just following electric motor hybrid 'trends' in the auto industry now. Hybrid technology should remain in economy cars and nothing more. When serious performance is involved, the ICE is the only way to go. Here's a video of the 918 vs. Agera R......Hybrid vs. ICE...No contest:

Blind devotion to the brand. Needlessly expensive. (BMW still uses GM transmissions!) Warranty/Genius Bar (Hell, BMW even has the BMW Genius now for Bluetooth help) Non user-serviceable parts. Can't even replace a battery on your BMW yourself. Did I mention completely blind devotion to the brand?

![]() I was with BMW before it even went mainstream, ditto for Apple. I still have my Apple IIe ![]() I love companies with Vision, but I hate it when things begin to look/feel/sound/ sterile, and on top of it, isolate the end users from their acquisitions, dare I even say, dictate to the end user. I consider myself a loyalist, but I do not drink anyone's kool-aid, hence no blind devotion or allegiance here. Sadly, I see this kool-aid as being the drink of choice for many it seems, dare I say over half of the population. Is there a sheep smiley on here? To conclude, and in a one liner, I believe in progress, but IMHO, Progress, has taken a slightly wrong turn. Time will prove who was right once we look back in retrospect, as we do today, looking back in retrospect to other past races great civilizations, and as they did to others before them.
