As far as i know BWI owns the rights to MagneRide and continues to improve the technology and sell it. Not GM. Sure it was developed by Delphi, which was owned by GM at one point in time, but Delphi was sold off and later purchased by BWI. This suspension system isnt a "GM" suspension system. It's used by multiple car companies. So really this is an independent suspension system developed by a company that was once owned by GM, but isnt actually a GM product since 2009.

They claimed the Z/28 was one of the benchmarked cars during testing. Whether or not they can run with or beat the Z at the track is another story.
I have to agree with another comment I read elsewhere....in that in meany ways this car sounds like more of a ZL1 competitor than a Z/28. Mag ride, all the creature comforts, no real claim of weight reduction (yet), and Brembo cross drilled brakes. I'm not saying that I don't think this car will give the Z/28 a run for its money at all, but it is very compariable to the ZL1 in this respects. I feel like this car will end up somewhere between the track capabilities of the ZL1 and the Z/28. Just my wild early estimate.

FYI, we were one of the teams that did the parade lap and parked at Mid Ohio a couple of years ago.

I dont know why everyone keeps talking about longevity of this motor. I dont think its in Ford's best(financial) interest to just stuff a motor in this car without significant R&D. This engine has been in the works for a few years now, it just was not conceived months ago.
Also, this engine surely CANNOT cost more than a Trinity engine. So, I see no reason why costs can't be kept down. |

Yeah but they sell a lot more Coyote engines to spread that cost over (Cost/per unit sold) and the trinity engine was a lot of the additional cost in a GT500 that car was 55-75K and most on dealer lots were 65k-75K. Now add mag ride, almost entirely different front end parts, bigger front and rear rims tires made to spec for this car. I will be pleased to see it come in in the 55K area but I just dont see it i see 65K plus.
