Anyone else having trouble figuring out what to do with your 6+ in the Camaro? It barely fits in the cup holder WITHOUT a cover

Not sure I follow you, 32 a month for 18 months is $576. How is that cheaper than buying for $200 and being in a 2 year contract. I can understand if the service is less but say you broke the phone 6 months into plan. You would have to continue paying the 32 a Month for another year plus your new phones price. Not trying to argue, trying to understand |

Now when I say its cheaper, I am also factoring in the price for the service. With next, I pay the 640 and I own the device. In essence you are paying MSRP for the phone in 20 installments with no interest. If I were to sign into a contract, it would be the initial 200+35*24 which equals 1,040. So if you factor in the higher cost of the service for being in contract, you are basically paying an extra 400 dollars. As for if I broke the device or it got stollen, it would be an issue either way. I would be liable for the remainder of "loan" while also footing the bill for a new device like you said. However, if I was in a contact, I would not have to repay the device but I would still have to purchase a device out of contract which is the same cost as if it broke under the next plan. Now this is all assuming you do not have insurance on the device (Which I don't). I have never broken/lost or had a device stolen so I took the gamble. The next plan is not for everyone, I personally am a Tech enthusiast so haveing a new device yearly is something that caught my interest which was one of main reasons for going with it. Hope this clarifies what I am trying to say. Last edited by menendez1293; 10-01-2014 at 11:06 PM. |

Doing a little digging on my own situation. i'm currently with Verizon and have until the end of February 2015 before I can upgrade. If I'm understanding this correctly, if I partake in the "edge" program they have, I would be paying $37.49 a month for the iphone6 64gb (20 months). and then have to pay the $30 for the line access and month, and $15 for the data access a month. Totaling $82.49 a month, for 20 months. all while having the option to cancel at any time, right?

But if you cancel, while I guess your not in a contract, you won't have an ETF, but will have to pay the remaining balance of the phone off. Whether or not that is the MSRP price or just the remaining months I have no idea. Also to the poster on the next program, thank you for digging in deeper. I am a very tech person as well and while I would love to have the new phone, I'm not sure if the next program is beneficial in my case, since I still have the unlimited data. I've been eligible for an upgrade since 10/12 lol. I got the iPhone 4 on Verizon when it came out, and last year my brother in law sold me his 1 month old 5 when the 5S came out. I'm curious to see what happens with my month to month. If they force me into a tiered plan then of course I'll upgrade. |

Still a better deal than my current situation. Would save me $10 a month. Lol

I have no contract with the carrier, so it's basically month to month. If I choose to leave, the only tie I still have with AT&T is the remainder of my phone.

The point of NEXT is to upgrade sooner right? But you have to keep exchanging your phone and they only accept phones in good condition so in essence you're leasing phones? My sister has NEXT and they said she was eligible to upgrade in 18 months, that's only 6 months sooner then a regular 2 year contract and not worth it to me.

So basically you need to keep your phone in an Otterbox case. Every iPhone I've had since the 3G I've had an Otterbox for, and I've dropped my phone from a 14' ladder and the phone was fine. To me, it's crazy how ppl don't keep their phone in a case. Sometimes someone will hand me their phone and I have to just think...what the hell did you do to this thing? |

Lifeproof FTW. Everything proof and slimmer than the Otter Box.
