But to let you know with how it comes, back closed, it will take another person to get him into it. Have him try it on first and see how it is. If it's too big they will swap it for you. If it fits, take scissors and split the back. Then he will be able to get it on by himself. But you, or someone, will want to be there the first time he benches in it to make sure he gets accustomed to it and the weight roll onto his belly or throat at the bottom.

Let you know how it fits. Since he lifts alone, he has two metal sawhorses set at chest height while on the bench. So he can drop the bar, touch his chest, and just as it touches him it rests on the stands. That's incase he ever can't finish the lift, he can still slide out from underneath the bar. It has happened in the past, and if he didn't have those stands he woulda been in real trouble. I did the measurement according to their posted table and I ordered over the phone, so the person I spoke with said it was correct. But we'll see when it comes in. |

I could be wrong about the size of my shirt...it's been a while since I ordered one. But someone, initially with a closed back, will have to put him in the shirt and it will be a PITA.

Hello everyone. I had a friend of mine recommend some supplements to me. He is into body building and competes sometimes. Anyway, I was wondering what you think about it or if you may have any better suggestions. I am not trying to spend a ton of money. So, all of it is made by Metabolic Nutrition. The products are T.A.G., C.G.P., and TRI-PEP. Thoughts or suggestions?

agreed, don't waste your money on stuff that isn't needed. if anything as hrpiii suggested, just get a protein and everything else you can obtain with food/diet.

havent checked in a while....
my first powerlifting meet is in november, and I'm going to start training specifically for it after next week....next week I want to find my 1 rep max so here's my plan, each column represents one day, military press I'm just going to go for amrap at 115 and call it a day...not too satisfied with my squat and bench just yet, but i think it'll be a great experience..can't wait, weighed in at 138 this morning

I have never lifted and I can't do squats right now do to a recent knee surgery. The reason this came about is because the dr said that for some reason I am not building the strength or muscle in my leg at all. He said there should be something noticeable by now, yet there is nothing. I asked a friend of mine that is big into nutrition and bodybuilding and that is what he suggested. I know he and I do not have the same goals in mind but he is just trying to help. That is also why I am asking here. I basically want to get rid of a good bit of body fat but not loose any muscle at the same time. I have lost 12lbs due to everyone's help from here. I have gone from about 26% body fat to 23% so far.

Thanks man! Yesss our range of motion sucks! I feel like I am traveling across the country and back. I used to lift with a buddy who was 5'6 and seriously his bench press is probably 8 inches....Versus our lanky ass arms. Bench has always been my weak point. It started at about 95lbs 4 years ago. Yes I am actually starting to do exactly what you say! I am decreasing my volume, staying with heavy enough weight that I know I can do but that is also very hard! I have also found occassional negatives have helped me, loading something like 335lbs on the bar, something that I know I can't do, then lowering the weight extremly slowly. It gets my hands and nervous system used to handling a heavier weight. Thanks for the adivice! Its awesome to hear about someone else with a similar lifting style!

Looking at what you wrote above is 115 your max on a military press and is it done seated or a strict/standing?

Tall lanky f'rs that have long arms and are better suited to deadlift and only have to lift it 1.5 feet off the floor vs me having to lift it 3 feet ![]() Seriously though what you posted above for the most part is BS. MOST powerlifters aren't 5'6 and have 48" waist. In fact most in the 242 lb class and under are in good shape FOR LIFTING HEAVY WEIGHT. In most cases this involves having a thick waist. It creates a much more stable platform to sit a ton of weight on your back to squat and as you have pointed out above, it does shorten the ROM in the benchpress. Mine is 36" or so and it ain't fat.
