GM closing plants, reducing employment levels in the good ole USA. Thanks for all of your support and concern for the soon to be unemployed factory workers.(yeah, sour grapes, so what! I found out today.... no job in July.) Thank you Scotsman for your concern.

Dumb question: Wasn't the Camaro supposed to be being produced at Oshawa?

There is a plant (soon to be shut down) for trucks, and another one for cars. Used to be 2 car plants but as I understand it they have merged the operations of them into one. The Camaro, Impala, and a couple Zeta based cars are all going to be built there.

WoW I love the truck bashing in this thread. . .forgive me but a truck is more useful then any car I have ever owned. I can't tell you how many times I've moved in the last 6 years and hell the last 2 years I've moved 5 times. and I'm about to move again in the next 6 months. I could not own a car that could tow all my crap around. I also can't tell you how many times I've had to use my truck for work. . .when the gov shorts my shop a truck I end up using mine. . .and how many times I've helped my friends move? come on.

bashing trucks and suv's just because they get crappy gas mileage compared to small light cars. . .get over it.

Who ever said the reasons for owning a truck/suv for being safer and sitting up higher. . .yea it is safer then your little bitty pirus/civic/corolla/etc. my truck won't take as much damage as a civic in the same accident. . .Also sitting up higher (stock) gives you a better vantage point of a situation.

now before you bash me let me give you a run down on my opinion and why. I've owned several types of cars. I've owned trucks, sports cars, economy cars, and tech a commuter. here's the list, 1989 chevy chyenne, 86 astro, 81 malibu, 96 trans am, 04 saturn ion, 98 camaro, 86 fiero, and my current DD 07 silverado. out of all those for a DD I prefer my Silverado. I liked the fiero because it was low and with a 350 swap it would be a destroyer. but I couldn't see crap in a parking lot or sitting behind other cars/trucks at a light. give me my silverado over your prius/civic/cobalt/ion/etc any day of the week.

Sorry for going off, just tired of people trashing trucks when they have no right other then that's their opinion.

ok well i agree trucks are handy but also they suck sometimes....

and you mentioned cobalt....well i bet the cobalt ss would wlak all over your truck.......not trying to start a big fight here but it would sorry...yeah it might not b as safe as a truck...and that was your opinion and i respect it so dont flip k

and i prefer a car because....they are smaller and easier to maneuver...most are faster then trucks..better gas mileage (know you're sick of hearing that but yeah)....better speakers(sorry thats a big seller for me)...

sure my little grand prix couldn't tow 5981793025 pounds like your truck prolly can but i can e-brake in my car! haha just a little humor

I bought my truck for towing and utility. i drive my cars for driving at the track and cruising. two different classes. as for a DD I prefer a truck. lol. weekend warrior (no work in mind) give me a car that can handle and I can take up into the mountains and have some fun. No where did I say anything about using a truck for racing/handling. just there was a lot of truck bashing in this thread. . .that's what ticked me off. guess Bad Day= Bad mood so Bad mood + truck bashing thread = ranting post. sorry.
