![]() If they don't upgrade the suspension significantly it will be as the autoblog guy said. I agree that the autoblog and jalopnik guys are freaking hacks. 99% of the time you can tell they are trying to force something out that might sound smart. Bunch of small minded dicks. |

The admins, and TRAN, thank your voluminous input, as well...as did I. As to some "worthy" Hellcat pilots only getting 13's, those runs will show up on YooHooTube as well. Count on it... Nope. Not every media maven was blinded by the exotic Portland location and complimentary Subway sandwich lunch, courtesy of Dodge... Quote:
Obviously, you don't write for a living. In all the blog posts written thus far, no one but you has written "the plan" so succinctly. Because pro writers get paid by the word/line/page, and you gave away the store for about $0.57... Quote:

Honestly, in the real world that holds true today. I can't remember ever being at a car show, cruise, meet or some other kind of performance car event where someone asked, or cared, how a car handled or how fast it went around a certain road course. I think the Euro trash magazine writers are the reason everyone thinks that new pony/muscle cars need to handle like true sports cars or a BMW M3.

In 1979, 35 years ago, firebird outsold Camaro by a w-I-d-e margin. Over 100,000 TRANS AM's were sold. "Radial Tuned Suspension". WS6. NOT recent events, folks. Original-era muscle cars were sold, largely, with taxi-cab trim and BIG mutha engines...and DRUM brakes...and OPTIONAL "handling packages" with anti-sway rear stabilizer bars. "Do those make it quicker in the 1/4-mile? No? Then I can't afford that crap..." Don Yenko is credited with creating COPO 9737 - Sports conversion Package (Z/28 suspension/wheels/tires included), which EVERY YENKO Camaro produced in '69 had available. To give the car some semblance of "balance". And THAT was 45 years ago... FE2, F41, Competition Handling Package (mandatory on all CJ Mustangs, along with Disc Brakes)... MAGIC components for folks who NEEDED some road-worthy balance in their lives...just to perhaps SAVE their lives... "Handling" ain't some new-fangled camaro5-created "myth". It's been there all along, for the KNOWING...and the WISE. |

Sure they had the handling packages on all the cars but the most they talked about was how fast they could go through the cones, that was about it.

Where is NHRA attendance, these days, in relation to other aspects of motorsports? In a STEEP decline. As is drag strip usage. How many have closed in the last 15-20 years? Good Guys used to have nostalgia drags at many events. Now they have a couple. But they have AUTO-X @ EVERY EVENT! Why? This is NOT 1970, anymore. Ever heard of PRO TOUR? THE fastest-growing segment of hot rodding? Drag racing is sooooo '70s... |

Nothing against the hellcat, but this isn't the 70's. Some want more, and some don't. But in todays real world people are buying road course focused cars too.

Was at Cayuga 2 weeks ago and the place was packed to see the Nitro Nationals had a great time.
Here is a little Camaro content, and what track has closed down in the Toronto area Georgetown that was in the 70's |

Growing up in the 70's the 1/4 mile was the ticket maybe for some of the younger guys it isn't but most people on this thread have said that the 1/4 is what they are into.
here is another Camaro |

Drag racing is so 70's and dying that Ford put line lock on the 2015 Mustang to use on a road course.
