But seriously, this new 2.7L equipped F150 will make a great replacement for my wife's old/(stolen) '06 F150. Hell, this thing makes 25 more horses and only 5 less lbft of torque than the old 3v 5.4L. Not too mention that it'll have a broader torque band and return substantially better MPG. Seems like a win-win to me.

Crysalis...make this happen. Use your influence.
Only if you ask me nicely.

"Real world"...as in DD duty or as a work horse? The people towing and hauling a lot all the time, will in no way shape or form get anywhere near the EPA ratings. The small EB's while in high boost can be quite thirsty. Now, the people that use them as daily drivers with some light hauling will see the EPA ratings regularly. Lastly, those who use these trucks as nothing more than huge sedans/grocery getters might even regularly exceed the MPG ratings.

That's just me guessing of course.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. That is the point of the ecoboost 3.5 and IMO it makes perfect sense. A lot of people who buy trucks just use it for truck stuff occasionally ( which is where I will fall if/when I get a truck). It gives you the Bette fuel economy for dd duties and if you have to tow a hefty load you can do it. But yeah the ecoboost will be working hard towing and IMO if your doing a lot of towing of heavier loads you are better suited with a super duty.

The tremor was a cool idea but overpriced. It was essentially a loaded FX truck but still over priced

The first attempt seemed...ok, at best. The performance wasn't quite on par with the defunct Lightning, at least from a stock v. stock perspective. If the RCSB can lose about 500lb, down to 4500lb curb, and the next possible Tremor gets the Navigator's 3.5L tune it should move out very quick.

I don't think it was supposed to be on par with the lighting. All it was was a regular cab short bed fx truck the ecoboost and 4.10s. A sporty shorty

That is a nice vid, but It covers the 2.7L Nano EB. Which I am excited for and ultimately may purchase to replace a 2006 FX4 F150 equipped with the 3v 5.4L.

What's I was refering to in the post you quoted was the '14 F150 Tremor. It weighed in at just over 5000lbs and had the "old" 365/420 tune. If there were to be a new Tremor on the aluminium bodied '15 (hopefully losing ~500lb) and possibly getting the Navigator's 3.5L tune of 385/460; then that would be much more aligned with what the SVT Lightning was. Then it would prove to be more of a direct successor thereto and not just a spiritual one.

As long as it isn't a 37 to 40k Priced truck. It will do well I mean seriously I thought it was going to come in around 32ish and add options to make it up to that price but that's the Base price too high for my tastes I love sporty trucks but not overpriced ones but I guess they kinda all are over priced Ala' Ram R/T is overpriced also but only 2wd no 4wd offered. It would be cool if they did the Navigator Tune on the next Tremor if they decided to sell one with the Lighter weight. Prolly would perform as good or better than the last gen Lightning.
