Slightly off the topic a bit here, but what's with car names today? "Mustang GT350 SVT". Couldn't they also squeeze 'Hi-Po' in there too? Maybe cram '5.0' in as well?

Mustang GT350 5.0 SVT Hi-Po Track Edition by Ford.

Why do we need so many letters and names in a name. "GT350" ain't good enough for the 21st Century buyer?

3700!=4200
And if you'd take your fanboy glasses off you'd know the 2015 GT weighs 3,729, a 2015 Camaro SS weighs 3,935 and a ZL1 weighs 4,120.

I am no Mustang fanboy, obviously based on what I drive. However I will point out your taking the heaviest possible coupe Mustang, that being an automatic GT in comparing it to the lightest possible manual SS.

Auto '15 5.0 auto: 3,729
Auto SS Camaro: 3,890-3,900 lbs.

the new Mustang is still going to be almost 150 pounds lighter

The larger point is that 4VFTW rounds down the weight of the GT 29 lb, rounds up the weight of the ZL1 80 lb and then calls a guy fan boy.

I changed the weight of the SS to 3935 before you posted but it is really has no bearing on the main point. G5 is an obsolete platform.

For someone accusing people of fanboyism, you exhibit it pretty well yourself.

Anyway, the Mustang gained weight. So much for "bloat" being a GM-only issue.

Yeah but I think all the auto companies are doing the best they can. I am genuinely curious how our Camaro is going to shape up on Alpha.
My guess is the delta between similarly equipped Camaros' and Stangs' will be within 100 lbs.

Last time they were that close was 79/80/81 IIRC

are you ****ing retarded? I listed 3700lbs because I didn't think the context required listing the weight down to the last pound so I rounded to nearest. I honestly had no clue what a ZL1 weighs although I know its north of 4100 , but I see 4200 thrown around alot so I assumed that was a fair number

your criteria for what constitutes a fanboy may need adjusting IJS

call the ZL1 an even 4100 if it makes you happy...it's still laughably close to being as heavy as a Buick Electra 225. There now you can call me a Fanboy
