People just want to see GM fail for no reason at all. How about they go after Chrysler for making shitty cars for decades?

I agree and I dont understand why they want GM to totally fail. Doesnt make any sense to me. And Chrysler Corp has 2 bailots been owned by 2 foreign companies and still make questionable cars and trucks and no one seems to pick on them they way they do GM...

You just have to help GM figure out how to 1) get rid of Opel and 2) get rid of Buick in China. Opel is slightly more upscale than Chevrolet. Buick in China sells a huge number of cars compared to North America. GMC is a cash machine particularly with the Denali models. It gives GM the ability to sell trucks from Buick dealerships. Those 3 brands are the hardest nuts to crack.

But that brand alone would be worth big money in China.

chill pill

I listened to the segment. They didn't exactly say that. They were offering up as a pondering question along the lines if the recall debacle hurts GM so hard it knocks them to their knees. But the consensus of the discussion was that no, they won't be bought out any time soon. In a few months, it's going to be someone else's turn in the barrel. Maybe Ford, maybe Toyota...it'll be someone.

But if GM keeps assing around and don't build quality cars and trucks that people can DEPEND on (recall the general masses must be satisfied, not just us Camaro crazies) then Fiat could buy them just like they did Chrysler, for example. It can happen. Not very likely near-term but never say never.

All of GM's new cars are quality products.

For the most part, I'd agree. when it comes to Camaros. But Joe Sixpack may read this recall notice from GM announced yesterday and think something else. 2.7 million cars to be recalled is a lot. Hopefully they can keep this out in front of them. This was what everyone was discussing on the news analysis channels today.

It's way to early to start talking buyout, one quarter doesn't doom a company. GM will get a handle on all of these recalls and by August nobody will remember them.

GM is too big to fail.

Plus they are in "over-react" mode to improve PR with the key issue in the Cobalts.

They will recover with good products and superior service.

As you saw with Toyota's giant recall, they will be just fine. People are loving too many new GM cars and they will keep buying them. The recalls are mostly for little things.

Yup. Always bringing you the information that the other news channels are too afraid to touch.

That's the idea that got GM making barely passable crap for decades. We should be well disabused of this notion.
