Absolutely no way they'll be that different in price. Even a loaded Frontier about 10k more expensive than a base Silverado. I don't know who would actually pay 35,000 for a loaded Nissan Frontier ... but thats the pricing on them

and here is the almighty X factor, is how much better will the Canyon/Colorado be in fuel mileage? the Silverado 5.3 is rated at something like 16/23 isn't it? If the colorado and canyon is only rated at like 20/26 that is not that huge of a jump. and if it is only a few thousand less then I have a hard time not picking the more capable truck.

the full size truck I want is going to MSRP around 40-42ish probably. Just about every full size truck you can get about 7-8 off the MSRP so that puts it at a sale price of around 33-34. If the Canyon I want comes in at like 30 (with incentives applied) that would be a tough sell on the canyon if its not substantially better in MPG, to me at least.

I need a truck for work, and play(and I am sick of driving little cars lol) I am looking at getting a house in the next year or so and a truck will be so useful. As of right now I don't need to tow anything, or haul thousands of pounds of stuff. I need the truck bed, and a crew cab and 4wd. Fuel mileage is important to me because right now I have a 52 mile round trip commute daily.

Now like I have said before tho, if they get teh canyon and colorado into the 30MPG that would be just about a done deal(depending on how Ford's 2.7 ecoboost pans out). All depends on how much they cost, and how much better in MPG they are than full size trucks

It won't be pricing that sells the 31XXs. It'll be fuel economy, the diesel powertrain, and size.

I'm sure they will sell better than the previous generation, but GM needs to keep pricing as a major consideration. I'm not expecting massive gaps in pricing between the mid and full sized trucks, but I will say the overlap should be kept to a minimum...say, $1-2k.

The 4500 dollar rims and every imaginable option you can find. I did that on the builder when it first came out trying to make the most expensive V6 Camaro I could. I believe it also was a coupe. I'll try it again real quick.

Could only get the MSRP up to $47,280 but the builder kept removing options that should be available.

Edit: It appears they're not charging for different colored interior seats anymore and there is a $6500 set of wheels available now.

My money is on MSRP of 21-22k base price. Where do I get this price? In 2012, when they stopped making the Colorado, the base MSRP was 17,4xx. About 4-5k lower than the base silverado at the time. Since the base 2014 silverado is 25,500, I think that's a good number. Fully loaded, I expect about 30-32k. Fully loaded silverado 1500 is well into the 40's

A fully loaded Silverado is into the 50k range I bet the most expensive Colorado will be around 35 to 38k

I agree for the most part. Base price of very low 20s sounds right.

I actually feel fully loaded will push past 32K (I think the GMC may even go a bit higher than the Colorado) closer to mid 30s, but I'd think 30 - 32 would get you a majority of the goodies.

Crew cab, 4x4, V6, with all the options (and the new one is going to offer stuff the outgoing model NEVER had) is going to be a pretty penny. This same setup in the Silverado is low to mid 40s easy, so I'd expect at least mid 30s for the same on the midsizer.

I just feel that the price may be more important to people than the MPG's, because it will take a while to "recoup" that money in savings just based on MPG's. It may not make sense, but if you compare two trucks both at 30K with all the standard options (these days which include power steering, power windows, a/c, not like way back when when you had to pay for them) the only thing that leaves for options are things like mylink and other fancy technical garbage, but its a truck, who needs that stuff? If mylink is standard or a measly $1000 why not opt for the full size that would be more capable in all aspects and can seat more etc? Me personally don't need/want more than a regular cab, but that is not an option on the Colorado, but it is on the Silverado. Anyway, I think that there will be too much compare shopping between the two and may eat at eachothers sales and possibly still cause someone to go to Toyota or Nissan due to the amenities for the price they can get or don't want

Well just for poops sake I went on the toyota website to build a tacoma and with everything I want on it it was less than 24K, I hope that I will be able to say the same thing about the Colorado come September
