New 2014 Camaro Owner!

Hello! About a month ago I bought a Black 2014 2LT RS Camaro. Besides my faith, wife and children, it's my pride and joy. I figured I'd start this off by saying hi to other Camaro owners like myself, and everyone should be proud to own one of these exotic beast.

I've got into it so much that when I'm done paying for this, i'm looking forward into investing in a zl1. I've got a couple of years before the payments are done and I'm going to keep a close eye on the 6th gen Camaro. I seriously do not know how they're going to beat this style body. This is my favorite body style next to the 1969 SS Camaro.

Regardless some advice for new Camaro owners, make sure that you read the owner manual. I had to show off to some of my friends this beast and I've done some things that it tells you not to do, like go over 4000 RPM, go over 80, and no jump starts until you've gone over 1500 miles. Hope I didn't hurt my car too much.

Anyways thanks for having me, and looking forward to conversing with fellow Camaro enthusiast!

Picture of car for posterity.

Welcome! I'm new here as well and i have a 2013 Camaro LS, it's my pride and joy too haha! I agree on the body style which is why I took the plunge before Chevy somehow messes it up. The manual says that though? Oops

LoL yup sure does. It's in the driving and operating part, under new vehicle break in.

I believe the dealer should warn new sport car owners about that. I know if I was selling to someone I would absolutely tell someone that.

Hey - I'm a new owner as well and would bet that almost everyone of us broke each of those rules aside from the jump. I think I've been as fast as 105 and I'm sure I hit 6000 rpm a couple of times. I highly doubt we ruined anything. Enjoy your car!!

I agree, but it may hurt the performance of the vehicle, but it's a learning experience. I consider this my first real car that I've owned. Well it's the first car I'm actually proud to own. I feel dealerships should warn their customers not to do anything crazy until after 1500 miles due to break in.

I guess we should know that lol! Me? I drove off the lot with the windows down screaming "weeeeeeeeeee" and driving like a maniac. Hell, the stupid kid who sold it to me told me to drive it like a race car and took my to a section of road like a track with nobody around. Damn that fool.

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Lol! I don't know if you're joking. But, if you're not, Colorado isn't as snowy and cold as people think. It's been like 60-80 the past few weeks.

Great car, perfect color!!!!

Yes, these things are so pretty it hurts.

Don't worry about the break in thing too much. Now you know to go easy. A few runs won't hurt anything the way these cars are engineered.

Congratulations!
