Question about about a Lemon Vehicle
We bought my wife's truck knowing it was a Lemon. It had a problem with the Seatbelt fastener in the back seat that was fixed. When we were filling out the paperwork for the vehicle we were told that when we got the title for the vehicle it would show up saying that it was a Lemon. I was looking at it the other day and no where on the title does it say it is a Lemon. Is that a big deal at all that it doesn't say it was a Lemon?

I would think that this would only be noteworthy in the event that you were planning to resell the vehicle and not mention the "lemon" status of the vehicle to potential buyers... in which case it could be a considered a lucky break for a dishonest seller (which I certainly do not think that you are!).
Other than that scenario, I cannot think of any other reason that it would be of any concern. YOU know it's a lemon (I presume the seller voluntarily disclosed this to you), so the current owner (you) is fully aware. Part it out, fix it, whatever. Now, if you ARE able to fix whatever ails it, and do decide to sell it, if your conscience is clear in being FULLY confident that it is no longer a lemon (I know, once a lemon, always a lemon to some... but, sometimes they CAN be fixed), then you may have an easier time reselling it for decent money. Let your conscience be your guide! |
