Not if phones were confiscated by an unknown person(s) on the plane.. signal jammers are possible too.

If you aren't moving out of that dead zone, you're not getting service. And if you don't have service, you can't send a text.

Over the ocean there is zero service. If they landed in a remote area, again, no service.

I was just getting ready to say that as well.

Another thing to take into consideration; the plane was reported to be at 45,000 feet after they lost contact. That's well over what that plane was meant to fly. Also at this height, passengers could've started to lose consciousness.

It was then reported that the plane dropped down to 23,000 feet, then went back up. So who knows what they were doing.

Need a cell tower somewhere. Unless you have a satellite phone. My guess is internet, if they had it was turned off with the planes electronic communications.

I'll just guess here because I don't know. But I believe that if you have a commercial air liner and within an hour of take off all communications ceases, that somewhere a flag went up and they started to ask, "hey there your ACARS is out. Do you need held? We can't track you now." Pretty sure that is how it would go. I can't believe at that point they weren't trying to contact the plane. I don't think they just fly around. In fact if they go off course they are supposed to have permission so even if they just went off course someone was trying to contact the plane. And I'm pretty sure that a commercial airliner that no one can get a hold of would have a lot of bells going off.

It is a mystery, but my guess is we know where it is. I can't imagine we don't have eyes on everything in the air anywhere in the world at any moment.

There is a reason that information is not being communicated and it may simply be that we don't want anyone to know we have the technology. It may simply be everyone is alive and we are aren't going to go on CNN and say, "Hey there Mr. Kidnapper/HiJacker, we know where you are and we'll be there in just a little while. Keep everyone alive until we get there"

None of this adds up and I hope it ends with a lot of people alive with a scary story to tell.

Also lets simply assume there could simply have been one person of interest on the plane. Not a plane load of people for kidnapping but one person with money or information of something of value that made this the easiest way to kidnap that person.

But it's a mystery and with these details there is at least a little hope.

What I can't get past is that the initial eye witness reports from people on boats in the area that the transponder stopped transmitting said they saw the plane on fire. Now what would innocent bystanders have to gain by saying they saw it on fire if it really wasn't?

I dunno about that cause if it was 23,000 to 45,000 ft in the air how can you tell something is on fire or not? I am of the theory that it is a very well planned hijacking cause someone important is on that flight or if It did crash the negotiations didn't go well and the hijackers crashed the plane somewhere. Shame there is too much info that doesn't lead to a Alien type of abduction that would be cool. I mean not cool for those people and their families but cool that alien life is out there.

That's another thing that I don't understand. When that plane went off the radar, why werent planes scrambled to that location?

Also, someone knows exactly where that plane is. I just think that the countries involved in the investigation aren't making it public yet.

Someone said that the "fire" was most likely seen from the engines when they were forced to perform at 45,000 feet. Experts say that the plane really wasn't on fire, it just gave off that appearance due to the pressure or something like that.

The existence of wreckage and finding wreckage are two different things. Everyone assumes that wreckage is easy to find if you start looking for it. That's not always the case. many planes go down even over land and as long as it is remote area, the wreckage isn't found for a while. Sometimes years.

The scenario where it lands, but nobody makes a cellphone call... Look, if the plane landed, the people that stole the plane aren't travel guides. They are criminals. What makes you think the passengers would be allowed to keep their possesions- or their lives- after landing? Or during the flight. Quite easy. A man with a gun says "Everyone strip naked right now or I start in seat one killing people until you do it". He shoots one, people find out it's not like the movies where everyone gets sucked through a bullet hole in the fuselage, and so they do it.

The tracking features on the plane being turned off, and the pilots not announcing a course change strongly suggests a hijacking.
