I've seen some pretty cool 510's out there, but I would prefer if Nissan brought a new version of the 240SX back first.
That would sell a lot better than a new 510 IMO. I'm not completely sold on these designs, but they are very reminiscent of the original. Bring the 240SX BACK!! ![]() Nick C.

As another proof that hideous cars don't sell; take the Edsel brand as a whole for example. (I'm going to assume you know what Edsel is). The sole reason Edsel failed is because a comedian said the car looked like it had a toilet seat in the grille, which made everyone label the car as hideous. Nevermind that the cars were built incredible well (Most Edsels still have their original engines in the cars) the fact that people thought it was hideous, so it didn't sell. |

If a car's design really is bad, it's not going to sell all that well. It's hard to convince people to come into the showroom if the cars don't even appeal to them.

I just now noticed this car on Motortrend. I really like it. It's a funky looking car that looks like it wouldn't be driven only by hipsters. I like the design of the Nismo best. I wouldn't get one but I think it would sell well.

Seeing them in person, I thought they were kind of cool. Very different from the herd at NAIAS. I like seeing different designs that break out of the norm. I'd bet that little Nissan would outsell the Chevy SS hands down. Price be damned.

![]() Nissan IDx Nismo Shows Up in Jay Leno’s Garage - By Jeff Perez Since Leno is out of a job, he now has more time to spend working on his YouTube hit series “Jay Leno’s Garage.” We’ve seen the wild and the wonderful in his garage before, but now the Nissan Idx Nismo made its way to Beverly Hills. Originally introduced in Tokyo, the IDx is likely to be a sporty new coupe in the Nissan lineup if produced. And being a spiritual successor to the Datsun 510, it brings back a sense of nostalgia and design that we all love. Now, Leno gets his chance behind the wheel. Watch it below: |

I think it's pretty cool honestly. I wouldn't say it has an air of beauty like a Camaro for instance but the unique factor makes it a head turner all on its own, how many cars do you see on the road today like look even remotely similar to it? Honestly I would say it would be the most visually appealing car in the Nissan line up.
Nissan looks as if they tried to take some American design aspects with the car. |
