Next gen Mustang looks "smaller"

Ford, full of bright ideas.....

Quote:
Ford will make next Mustang look smaller

In an environment in which a big car might be viewed as a gasoline hog, Ford Motor Co.'s intention to make the next-generation Ford Mustang look smaller may be politically correct. "We have a car which I think is more suitable for the times than the Challenger and the Camaro," said Peter Horbury, Ford Motor's North American design director. The restyled, re-engineered 2010 Mustang goes on sale early next year.

Who knows...maybe it is a perception thing, and maybe it will actually work. People look at my Mustang and think it weighs in at almost 4000lbs because of its size.

I can't tell you how many people I had to show that it really only weighs between 3350-3450lbs depending on the options, by going to a reputable site like edmunds.com and showing them the specs.

I think this is a great move on Ford's part. The current Mustang does look like a pig, so it can't hurt.

I bet they're gonna mess up a good thing =/ (not that it was that good to begin with) but, it was definitely a MAJOR step up from their mustangs of the 80's & 90's, of which looked like pretty much every other car on the road, hardly anything "unique" about it to look at.
But now this current mustang is a total cliché.
Where I live, you can hardly turn a corner without seeing one.

I like smaller cars. The Mustang does look like a pig.

I hate to say it too, the Camaro does as well.

hmmm the tenson is high here, (...Gulp...) well don't mostly cars look like pigs but there not, look at a lamborghini I dont know the specs so correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like 2.5 tons yet what are it times, CTS-V 4400 pounds yet what are it times around the track, technology is evolving and I'm starting to think weight in cars starting to mean jack shit now or days

you also got to consider safety regulations that get stricter every year, thats why cars are getting bulky, which some auto makes are throwing away light weight alloys and they are looking at more denser alloys

Says the company that still thinks using a solid rear axle, a V6 making barely over 200 hp, and a 300 hp V8 is modern high performance.
