I've been running on the treadmill a lot more lately. I'm finally starting to feel good while running.
Got a pretty nice lift in too Nick C.

I just started doing cardio 3 days a week after training. Found out that if I turn on Army cadences I can do 5MPH for 30 min straight with minimal effort. The beat it perfect.

Figured I'd jump in and start a regular routine. I am going with a 3-day split to allow for adequate recovery until I'm fully healed. Started with squats but started out real light, deadlifts were to risky so I went with partial rep deads but at this point they are a no go. Leg extensions and leg curls are not too bad and instead of the dead lifts I went with vertical leg presses and finished off with some crunches but after 1 set they were worst than the partial rep deads so for now those two exercises are off the table. It's not worth risking injury at this point so I'm just going to go light and weed out the exercises that don't feel right for a while.

I actually skipped max effort squat Saturday because Monique was in Knoxville all day and night. But I did something for the first time in 4 years that I've greatly missed.....
From the time I was 4 until about age 21 I roller skated! I got out of in when inlines came in as I hate them. Mid to late 2000's roller derby got popular so quad skating sort of made a comeback. So I thought I'd get back into it. Got my skates put together, signed up for the speed team and began to practice. Well this lasted 6 months, life happened, and I was out again. Fast forward 4 years later. I am now in Cookeville TN and the rink is a mile from the house. Monique was gone so I was like WTF I'm going to go skating. Went to the website to see the hours and there was a tab for "speed team". I was like yes! So headed on down there. It's Cookeville TN so it isn't much of a speed team but at least I don't have to dodge kids and worry about splatting people skating in the wrong direction. Man it felt so good. Good cardio workout that I love and it's not near as hard on the body as running although I am so sore. So Tues, Thurs, and Saturday's I'll be skating for cardio. Squatting tonight.

Totally disgusted is all I can say. I expected to start off a little behind where I left off but not like this. I figured I'd drop a few pounds on all my lifts while I finish healing and avoid the ones that are painful. Did lower body Monday, avoided dead lifts and crunches, my squats were 110 lbs lighter than where I left off and I could hardly walk yesterday and today isn't much better. Today was chest and back and it was lame, I struggled through bench presses and bent rows despite dropping 40lbs on each one. I never expected this and am quite bummed out. Maybe I'll bounce back once I'm back into it but it looks like it's going to be sloooower than I had hoped.
