Sad, sad pictures... but also a question

http://zengarage.com.au/2013/11/where-cars-go-to-die/

This is one of the saddest things I've ever seen. I might as well have had Sarah McLachlan's dog-kennel song playing in the background while I looked at it. But... what's the deal with that '63 split window vette having 6 taillights (3 + 3)?? The only other ones I've seen I'm sure only had 4 taillights (2 + 2).

The pictures of the Miura and the 300SL made me cry.

The worst part is that the owners of these cars won't part with them for any reasonable money. They are convinced that the car fairy is going to come restore them and they will get $500,000 at auction. Over the years the cars just slowly sink into the ground and rust away to nothing.

It's sad to watch them go to waste. I have a guy 5 miles from my house doing the same thing to a Boss 429 Mustang, I have been trying to get him to sell it for 25 years now and it still sits and rots away.

I just can't understand how people can let some of that happen. Just pure laziness I guess.

Those are some cool pictures. I love car art. Many of those would look great hanging on my wall.

Oh, to answer the tail-lights question:

It's custom and was a pretty popular modification. You may even find some with 8. Looks factory because well, people are good with fibreglass. I like them with 6

The Plymouth Superbird, 1963 Corvette, and Jaguar XJ220 were hard to see.
Not sure about the 6 taillights on the Corvette though. Someone was obviously not in the right state of mind when they did that.

Sad but not surprising at all I am sure everyone has seen the same thing while driving down the road or back road somewhere. I can understand the race cars though I mean u cant drive them on the street and after they aren't able to enter any races they almost just become a paperweight till u can drive one in a vintage race but races cars are very expensive to up keep to safe driving levels.
