I still like sleepers. One the pluses and minuses of owning a ZL1 is it gets attention everywhere I drive her, which sometimes I really would like to be not noticed. I cherish flying under the radar most of the time and I do not need attention the general public for affirmation on my car or truck purchase. That being said, I am human and I do get a little smile in watching how my cars get attention.

Spending upwards of $50k to impress the half-dozen or so people in the world that actually love this car...that would be nearly $50k I'd plunk down on another Camaro. But that's just me. I hope people do buy it to prove me wrong, as there's a lot of what I consider retards out there buying Chargers thinking they're cool when they're not, but time will tell.

In the end, I believe it is NOT going to sell as well as many have hoped. This is where the incentives to move the car off the lots will kick in. People who buy early are going to miss out on the potential 38K out the door prices or even better within a year.
So you buy your car to impress people? Not sure of your age but you're thinking is that of a teenager. There's more to life than trying to impress those around you. It's obvious this car isn't for everyone. Like the G8, people won't realize its value until it's gone. And i hope you're right about the fire sale at the end of the year, 38 would be a steal!

That's kinda my whole purpose of getting it ... I want something I can go out in, have a backseat to maybe take another couple and just chillax while driving. It sometime gets a little tiring going out and have to deal with all the fancy race boys wanting to run ... I don't have the need to draw attention all the time, if that's what I want I just open the cut outs on the ZL1 and get all the stares I want ...

Well you're the only person that I can see your point of getting one . You have yourgood looking cars already and just adding the SS to your garage with them. Good job

I will have to say though that this is the one thing that I love about ( Camaro5) is that ppl really will give all their time to help you make the best decision. Which is hard to find ppl like this in the world today. I love it.

The SS appears to be a nice ride and has been reviewed well but the price is just too much. It's sad how much a decently performing car costs these days.

The price is in line with a highly optioned SHO, and quite a bit cheaper than a loaded SRT8

Oh ok, I see. An actual SS sedan, not an SS Camaro.

For that kind of money my buddy picked up a mint 2008 Audi S8 with a 4 year warranty. The car stickered for $114k.

Meaning for $45-50k you can find an exceptionally clean near mint used 2008 S8 that originally stickered well over 100 grand new and it's far above an SS even if used and 6 years old. These cars typically were owned by professionals with multiple cars, thus low mileage and maintained as they should be at a dealer. Yes I'm comparing a used $45k car to a new $45k car but trust me if you drove a mint 2008 S8 you would more than likely chose it over the SS as would a strong majority of others looking at an SS.

To be honest, I doubt many buyers would even think about cross shopping a 6 year old car, for a new car. Typically those that are in the market for a used S8, are the type of buyers that flip cars for profit. Those that in in the market for new with a budget in mind, will either purchase or lease.

Point taken and I can understand that thought process as well. I'm just pointing out there are exceptions to the rules and in this case I still believe the S8 used is a far superior car for a similar price. It's your money get what you want like you are. Perhaps I have opened others eyes to an unbelievable car although not for me as I like smaller 4 door sedans.
