Not trolling calling it as I see it. To compare the 15 Mustang GT to the Z28 is ridiculous, and to say the mustang should have sold for closer to what the Z28 did is idiotic. The Z28 is so much more than what a regular ole Mustang GT is. For people to say it shows the Camaro is better are wrong it shows nothing besides what we already know which is the Z28 is a much more expensive desirable car. I'm not saying the Mustang is better than a Camaro or that the Camaro is better than the Mustang. I will say the Z28 is IMO a much better car than a Mustang GT of any year. I can't go home I'm already here. My comments my not be welcomed, but they are staying sorry. Quote:
Your right I do own a Mustang. I also own a few other cars that are not mustangs sigh....I'm not complaining about Camaro fans as I am a fan of the Camaro, one of the reasons I have one. I'm complaint about the people blinded by brand loyalty, so desperate to find something to say they are better the the other guy. |

Man some of you guys get a little too butt hurt a little too easily. It's just people's opinions, and we all should know by this stage in our lives that opinions are like assholes: everyone has one and they all stink. Having said that, everyone having a different opinion is what makes the world interesting so to hate on someone for it is stupid really.
Personally, I don't like the '15 Mustang design. I'd rather have the current design as I find it far more attractive (exterior-wise anyway). |

If anyone is butt-hurt, today, it's likely someone in the Dearborn World Headquarters of a certain North American-based auto manufacturer...
This Gen-6 Mustang, aka S550, is arguably THE most important version of the car since 4/17/64. It MUST maintain its position as the only true high performance "halo" of this hallowed nameplate, and company. They've spent BILLION$ bringing it to market, and MILLION$ promoting their simultaneous worldwide "reveal". Mulally even managed an appearance on the Top-rated AM network show. A LOT rides on this car...or they wouldn't have gone to all the trouble and expen$e that they have. Competition in the marketplace has NEVER been fiercer...repeat, NEVER! Then, in a move reminiscent of the Chicago Auto Show '11 (when they announced the '12 GT 500 would have far more horsies than GM's on-hand "reveal" of the ZL1), they jam Gen-6 VIN #000001 into B-J to go head-to-head with the "phat pig" Z/28 and...DROP THE BALL! Imagine if the 1st one sold, publically, went a cool MILLION (a drop in the bucket for this car's budget AND importance). "A One-In-A-Million Car! You Can Order YOURS From Mid-$20s..." A much-followed Ford-fan buff book abbreviated to MM&FF, for "Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords, should be re-named "Mulally's Minions & Farley/Fields"...who forgot to sow the proper "seeds" in their "fields"... IF that car had sold for a cool MILLION, Saturday night, every media/print/electronic outlet in the WORLD would carry that story...for NOTHING! Nada-zero-zilch... HSB - MBA Marketing 201 - "When an opportunity to get worldwide positive press arises, for the price of one VP's salary, either that VP says 'YES!" or he finds a new job..." Opportunity lost... |

BTW, this was an "investment-grade" opportunity...and still may be for the lucky dude that bought it....
Tell me of a North American Ford dealer that wouldn't/couldn't wrap a promo opportunity (read: traffic builder) around the "ONE DAY-ONLY very special appearance of Mustang #1!!", gladly pay $2,000 (or MORE - chump change, relatively!) for that appearance, and smile all the way to the bank? There's HOW MANY Ford stores to be visited over the next two-three years? At $2,000 a pop? Do the math... $300,000 was Grand Theft Auto, Version Gen-6... |

Maybe they'll release the new 6th gen against a Hyundai.

Well, we DO have a place, here, to refer all the nay-saying Ford folks who insist the Z/28 is a "fail" at $75K...and we sincerely thank y'all for your Ford-perspective defences of Z/28...and your continued support of the Gen-6 Mustang... Job 1...done.

Hold on a minute guys...
Are we forgetting the rumored 2015/2016 gt350? I believe that car will have what it takes to beat the z/28. Not only on the track/strip/msrp, but it might also fetch more than $650k for #1. http://blogs.mustangmonthly.com/6827...lion-at-mecum/ http://www.rmauctions.com/lots/lot.cfm?lot_id=1052816 I hope z28 fans are ready for a 3600-3800lb gt350 with cc brakes/500+hp/IRS/305 rear tires. I will defend the z28 though... It is a really cool looking car, and the exclusivity will make it very rare and a treat to see on the street. I only wish they produced more and kept the MSRP around $55-60k. Then dealer markup might not be such a big deal and I could actually consider parking one in my driveway. The gt350 will be faster and more attainable for the average joe like me. Last edited by jimmythepage666; 01-20-2014 at 05:19 PM. |
