That is pretty darn nasty!
I wonder what the price tag is on that beast? Probably around 100k, if not more.

Anyone else notice the flappy-paddles behind the steering wheel? Hopefully there's a traditional manual available as well. Regardless, thing looks badass

EDIT: Just read in the other thread that the 8-speed auto is an option.

No pun intended..

Then maybe the manufacturers shouldn't give it to the press before they want it released?

Don't want it released until the Detroit Auto Show? Don't give it to news agencies/media until you're maybe an hour from going out to give the press conference.

There will always be leaks. Always.

If there's an interest in the story, there's money to be made (in this case advertising money because of increased traffic and click), and will be made.

And aside from withholding the information from Jaloponik in the future, what could GM sue them for?

Amazing!!

Imagine this in just about any other color....it will be even more amazing lol.

Super aggressive, and I love it.

I can't wait to see real shots, as GM renderings almost never do any of their vehicles justice compared to the real deal.
I think yellow pulls it off great! It is considered a exotic car , so they put it in yellow.

Left Lane News leaked it, Jalopnik just reported it. As for the transmission, nothing is confirmed yet. Strangely, the one pictured has a manual (see H pattern on knob) and paddles that have + and - on them (as opposed to rev match as the base models do). Having seen this and knowing the hp numbers will be 620+ and the price will likely start at around $95k... It makes me wonder if there will be a ZR1 equivalent this time around.

Or they could not be morons and just like the rest of the automotive media community, respect the embargoes.

It's not just GM. They do this to every manufacturer. And I know for a fact GM doesn't release anything to them anymore.

and again, I reiterate, unless there is a contractual obligation to do so, the ramification from not respecting the embargo is to get future information withheld, which is what you just said happened. And if they no longer get given the information, how would they know what the embargo date is?

However, the other poster just said that Jaloponik didn't leak it, another source did and they reported on it.

So I still fail to see how Jaloponik is in the wrong here? They didn't take advantage of information entrusted to them. They reported on something that someone else chose to make public and now that it was public, are free to talk about it.

You're anger should be focused at Fast Lane News.

The back spoiler as you noted, front splitter , front grille, wheels, and the front wheels are like the Z/28's. It's extended more like part of the front splitter.

Agree ! If GM really cared this wouldn't have happened. Unless they have a disloyal person working at GM somewhere.

Oh please. It's common knowledge what the embargo dates/times are.

And yes, Fast Lane News should be withheld from future press releases/events.

Still, doesn't change the fact that Jalopnik easily has the least integrity of any automotive news site out there. They even published an article earlier this year basically telling manufacturers that if they received any info ahead of time they would publish in defiance of embargoes. I have more than enough to be angry at that sham of a site.

Common to who? I don't know what the embargo dates are for any future vehicle.

And if Jalopnik is persona non grata within the industry, are they being told what they are? additionally if they are that shunned, they are under no obligation to respect the embargo dates if they are getting the information second hand.

The horse it out of the barn, so to speak. Shutting the door now does nothing.

No problem. Yeah I figured a bright blue would work for you. I really never have considered a corvette save for the 1963-67 years. However after taking a ride in a ZR1 and the looks of this new model my mind has changed somewhat. I still will wait to see what the new generation Camaro is like, but what an exciting time for GM enthusiasts.

Well can't get mad at somebody if they tell you what they're going to do if you give them the info. But you still give it to them. No foul here!
