Best battery?
So my winter beater a 99 jeep grand cherokee needs a new battery. I always had bad luck with the battery in my cobalt with the winter, get up early in the am and it was dead from the cold. So what brands does everyone recommend?

Others may have other answers with "exotic" power sources, but from my own experience over the last 30 years, a generally good value battery with more than adequate performance has been Interstate Batteries. I like them a lot. Also, I think there's like 2 or 3 battery makers left that make all the car batteries with different labels, so choices aren't great below the surface.
http://www.interstatebatteries.com/c...FcOh4AodwVIARA If you want to get a bit pricey, the DieHards I've always had good luck with as well. WHEN THEY WORK--- Optima dry cell batteries are pretty good at holding their power in the cold, but if you ever suck one way down, they never seem to come back fully and I've also had other issues with them in the past so I quit buying them. I like the no-liquid aspect, but no... That's my opinion.

"The majority of car batteries are created by 3 manufacturers - Delphi, Exide and Johnson Controls Industries. Delphi makes some EverStart models sold in Walmart and ACDelco. Johnson Control Industries makes Duralast seen in Autozone stores, Diehard - sold in Sears, Kirkland - the Costco brand, Motorcraft - which Ford sells, some of the EverStarts, and Interstate. Exide makes Exide batteries, Champion, Napa and even a % of the EverStart batteries." http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Who_makes_car_batteries_in_US |
