Cruze probably wouldn't even fit a V6.

Hilariously enough I'm pretty sure Malibu comes in V6 form for overseas markets.

Yeah, that does suck. I feel like that happens a lot with those types of cars. My step-mom has a Mercedes C-Class and it is an awesome car, but it constantly has something broken. She has had it for a year and it has been at the dealership at least 5 times, each with something major wrong with it. If the car isn't a DD, I think the pros would outweigh the cons as far as the problems go, but as a DD, I really don't want to have to worry about dealing with constant repairs. It just isn't worth it imo

I was debating about an Unlimited, however my wife has only saw women driving them, so she didn't think it was a good idea. (LOL!) Just thought it would be a testosterone builder until she said that.

My second choice, I am leaning towards a Cruze... but I would have to test drive one first.

For me, presently my DD is a V6 2010 Malibu, I don't have a 100lb dog (More like a 70lb Golden Retriever) but it has been fantastic on long runs (Avg. 30mpg highway) good ride, decent stereo and not a lick of issues in the snow. (Note, I live in Northern Ohio). 53k and going strong...
It's funny you say the testosterone thing, because I was talking to my sister about how I wanted a wrangler and her response was "You're gonna look like a man driving that!" So my sister and your wife have opposite opinions, but since I'm a girl, I would rather want to agree with your wife over my sister

I actually really like the Malibu! and that's good to know it has worked out well for you!

I agree! Though I'm not a huge fan of the cruze, it is way better than a Jetta. My dad has a Jetta and I hate driving it

Way better equipped, better appointed interior, and already beat the Jetta in comparisons.

Plus people are already reporting 50+ MPG in everyday highway driving.

No I haven't but I just looked it up and they look really nice! I'll have to do some research on them. Man, everytime i start looking at potential cars, I am always surprised by just how many different types of cars there are out there My list of 3 cars has now turned into a list of like 20

That's pretty impressive. It would be nice to get 50mpg

My family car is a Saturn Vue, it's not too big and not too small, it's got lots of features too. Even though they don't sell them any more you can pick up its twin the Chevy Captiva that's a year or two old used for a lot less than $30,000 because they are a fleet vehicle only sold new to companies. I have thought about trading my Vue for one in a year or two.

I drive a Cruze Eco daily and really enjoy the car. It helps that it's Manual too. When I drive 250 city miles weekly and get to the pump and put about 15 dollars I am very happy with the Cruze

If its gas mileage you want, nobody makes a better diesel than the Germans.. so I would go with VW

Gas mileage isn't something that is number one on my list but it is something that is for sure a plus. But I definitely wouldn't base my whole decision on mpg alone

Kinda tells you something coming from a guy who has owned so many vehicles.

Oh and I'm sure your aware of the modding capabilities with a wrangler.
