I want to know what the previous record holder was too.

Holy cow, 5.5 sec 0-60? That's insane for a $22,000 FWD car.

So sad for the competition: Honda...and Mazda...and Nissan...and...yeah you get the point. Great job on the Cobalt GM!

If I wasn't saving for the Camaro, I would probably be getting one of these.

Here is a link to the track records.

The SS Impala is a pretty nice car, but it just comes off as only the sum of its parts. It seems just like a normal Impala with a bigger engine and sportier suspension, which is exactly what it is. The newer SS models, such as this Cobalt SS and hopefully (and likely) the Camaro SS seem to be much more of a dedicated performance effort. Instead of upgrades to a lower level, they come off as a complete package, tuned and intentional. Plus with the Impala SS you had a small V8 putting 300 hp down through the front wheels. That is simply absurd.

Yea my dad has got an 06 impala ss and its not really track car if you know what i mean. Its just a car that you can have some fun with. Its weird, there is a TON of torque steer, but when i turn of the traction control, its a lot easier to manage.
