Good morning one last time from LasVegas. I watched a cool thunderstorm & flash flood from my room last evening before going dancing. There was a pretty cool lightning show. Part of the lights on the Paris Hotel & the marquee on both the hotels on either side went off for a while. Then while we were having a drink in the Lilly lounge before going dancing, there was a partial power outage here briefly. Just things like the air conditioning & music stopped & emergency strobe lights flashed. But it only lasted about 30 min.

No, HRS, I did not dance 'till I dropped, but unil my feet were killing me. Ol' fart feet don't like dancing in high heels. Actually, my daughter gave me a curfew of 12:00 (LOL) because she a has an early flight. We leave late this evening. Pics when I get home. HAGD all.

[QUOTE=69supersport396;6799824]Greetings from humid Baltimore. I haven't sweat like this in 3 years. Heat index was up to 107*. Of course, everyone commented, "You should be used to this Rick." Yeah, but not with 85% humidity.QUOTE]
Currently Peoria, AZ temp 85, hum 65, dew pt 72 vs. Baltimore MD temp 93, hum 50, dew pt 72. Too high of a dew point in both cities. Would like 100% humidity (rain) with mid 50's dew point.
70+ dew point is too tropical.

Ladybug won the "Favorite Wheels" award at the All Corvette and Camaro show today!! Woohoo!!

The show was at Garage Plus, the place holding the garage girls calendar contest. All the contestants had to be there, and, to be honest, I am seriously thinking of withdrawing my entry. I was embarrassed to be associated with them. Most of the girls had no respect for the cars or owners. I told them early in the day to ask permission before touching any of the cars they were being photographed with, and a few had the nerve to complain to a manager about me saying that. Then, I watched one gal climb on a friend's first gen. I went over and asked if she had permission from the owner (knowing very well that he was nowhere in sight), and she said yes "I asked that guy" ... I told her that's not the owner. She rolled her eyes at me. Wow... If these gals want to represent a place that regularly hosts car shows, they better learn to respect the show cars!!!

Congrats on the win and you did the right thing by telling the car show bimbos to get permission before crawling all over someones car.

Congrats on your win Jeanette. Sounds like some people need to learn respect, PERIOD.

Congrats on the win!

Don't care how good looking the girl is, none have permission to be on my hood, especially the Chevelle.

I was able to accomplish everything today. My daughter and I visited my aunt and uncle and stayed with them for a few hours. So sad to see him so weak. My aunt thinks she is struggling with all of this, but appears to have all the bases thoroughly covered. She's doing well under the conditions and has lots of support. They actually gave my daughter some needed furniture and accessories that all fit in my borrowed 2013 Dodge Dart.

Afterwards, I went to two car cruises with my buddy. Had a great time catching up with my east coast friends! We managed to arrive back in my buddy's garage before the rain began.

Looks like Sunday will be another hanging out day.

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaaack. Boy am I tired. Our flight was delayed 2 1/2 hours so it was 2:30 our time when I got home. Vegas was nice but I've had enough of it for a while. I'm glad I went and got to spend some good quality time with my daughter, Mike's parents, Mike's German cousins & his uncle. Uncle Louie is in his 90's and getting frail. He lives in California and can't really take the flight from California to Tennessee any more. Mike's dad is a retired special forces, highly decorated, veteran of several wars/conflicts who made quite a few to many jumps out of airplanes. He has really bad problems with his back and at this point no pain meds can touch it and the doctors have said they have done all they can for him. He commented on the flight home that it would probably be his last flight because he was in so much pain. Mike's mother and dad were in a bac car accident a few years ago & were both badly hurt but his mother got the worst of it. She has never fully recovered & won't make the flight to Germany anymore. They are both getting more & more feble so all things considered this was brobably the last time they will all see each other. Jina (my daughter) had never been to Vegas and had not seen Uncle Louie since she was a pre teen & had not seen the cousins in several years. We all got to spend a lot of good quality time together. I got to go see & tour the Dam that my grandfater helped to build and spend time with my C5 friend, Lori (SSgirl) and got to go our dancing with my daughter. It was a good trip.

On a bit of a sour note, I got a subponea at work while I was there & have to be in court to testify regarding one of my clients on Monday at 1:00. Yuck! Not a good way to start what will be an insane week of work inbetween two spans of days off. But I will be fine as I am already permagrinnin' in anticipation of the Fest! I'll post up some pics later. Jina is about to hit the road for her long drive back to her house near Tallahassee, Fla.

Jan, glad you had an enjoyable time and had a chance to visit with your family. Maybe we'll get a chance to meet up during your next visit.

Sounds like you got outta town just in the nick of time. Last night we had round 2 with nasty electrical storms, high winds (69 mph was gauged at McCarran), hail, downpours and flash flooding.

Where I live, we had moderate rain, lightning and thunder and some nasty gusts but the worst skirted my neighborhood. Then, out of the blue, shortly after 10 when everything was quiet, without warning, there was the loudest BOOOOOM I've ever heard in my life. The cats went flying and car alarms went off about a half mile in every direction. I stuck my head outside the air was completely still, heavy from the earlier rain; there was no wind, thunder or lightning; the lights in the house didn't even flicker. I don't know if a transformer took a hit or what. Just freaky.

Supposedly, we're in for round 3 tonight.
