I have a question for you all.

So guy called me out in another thread because I use 87 in my car and I said well the manual says it is okay. I am told it is not good for the car, but my thought is why would the manual say it is okay when it is not. Then he proceeded to talk about how the manual says to change your fluids at 100,000 miles and then he said he changed his a 8,000 miles.

Question when should I change my fluids?

Depends. I mean we still stick to a 3,000 mile oil change interval even though we know we don't have to. It's just a routine.

Depending on what fluids you're talking about, it usually doesn't hurt to change early but the interval he's talking about is a little extreme.

And the cars are tuned to run 87. It's perfectly fine.

WOW!! That does sound nice. Isn't this the slow time of the year for retail?

You have the V6 so you're suppose to use 87. Don't use octane higher than your manual says. Only the V8 needs higher octane. And changing your fluids that quickly is waste of fluid.

EDIT: Oh wait we're talking about oil? I change mine every 5,000 miles or so.

Which thread is this?

Thanks.

I was just a little bit pissy. I know it is the internet and I should let things bother me.

I know the importants to keeping things fresh and the car happy.

Jewel had her first oil change since Fest a few months ago. My garage actually yelled at me for changing my oil too soon. They called it wasteful.

It's still busy but I like to take my vacation days in the summer which we only get about three good months worth of decent weather. Was going to take a trip to Sturgis but 1600 miles round trip I'm too lazy to drive so I spent 200 in airfare and I'm flying out to California in September instead

Well it says 87 or higher in the manual and when I am running nitrous I am going to need to run 93.

Technically my Envoy's tuned to run 87 but for whatever reason she's had 89 all her life.

She becomes very unhappy with 87 now.

My Maxima runs on 87. But my dad sometimes will sneak Premium in it.

Believe it or not the Juke requires premium.
