We paid him a lot last year.

Doesn't mean you should play him if your QB competition shows there's someone better. Last year is a case in point.

Wilson has a stronger arm than Barkley, but that's about it. I don't know what the damn Bills were thinking, and the jets, well they have proven to not think over and over again.

Everyone gets enamored with guys like RG 3 and Vick because they can run. So could V. Young and that didn't help him much. It doesn't take long for a DC to put together a plan to keep a running QB one dimensional. That's where guys like Luck shine. He is mobile and has a big arm. Much more of a threat.

The biggest knock on both Barkley and Wilson coming out wasn't production, it was their lack of mobility. There are a couple of pretty damn good statues that play QB in the NFL. I'm not delusional enough to think that either of them will be as good as say Brady or Manning, but I bet both of them will be better than Geno and Manuel at the end of their careers and both of them were drafted well before Barkley and Wilson.

How many QB's were drafted ahead of Brady? Hell, he almost didn't make the team and was buried on the depth chart his first few seasons because he only had one year of experience at Michigan.

Anyone that thinks a QB is going to be a superstar based on three very scripted practices is off their meds. Looking at what they did against top tier opponents for several years with lesser talent.......is a much better gauge.

Jumbo sized JaMarcus Bustle played in the holy grail of the SEC for the untouchable LSU posers and couldn't make it through his rookie contract after being the overall #1 pick. The people he played with made him look better than he was, just like others don't look as good when they don't have the "top tier" talent around them.

Like I said earlier, I think Flynn will get the starting job this season but Wilson is going to push Pryor down to the bottom of the depth chart again this year. I hope Flynn has a great year and the Raiders will be set at QB for a long long time, but with only 2 starts in the NFL, being a 7th round pick AND following JaMarcus Russell out of LSU, isn't real confidence inspiring. Again, this is a guy that has one year of "tape" in college, but his ended with a BCS championship.

I see what your saying, and dont take my quoting you as directed at you please, its all over the boards and talking heads. everyone is acting like wilson will be amazing and just dominate the NFL...

All Im saying to all of them is there is no way that can even be seen from a rookie training camp, or from college...there are QB's who played in Pro style offenses in college that are left on the side of the road broken and abandoned in numbers to numerous to count.

Add to that, what is a pro style offense any more? with the rules basically tying the defense's hands behind their back, making it harder and harder if not impossible to even tackle certain positions, the offenses are morphing into whatever they want lately

At least I will be able to go to the 1st game, maybe some others near Durham.

they play the falcons week 10, not that long a drive to make it....though since they obviously will be getting stomped of course, the drive back may be super long.....

I agree completely that its way too soon to tell. The only thing I hear out hear is on how great Geno Smith is going to be. I wasn't impressed with what WVA did with him at the helm. Seeing Wilson succeed with an Arkansas team that was lacking real star power was more impressive to me. Plus he's a Raider so until he shows signs of being another Jamarcus Russell, I'll pull for the kid. lol

hahahahahahahha

Rolando McClain just retired at 23. What a POS! I can't believe the Raiders drafted such a worthless person, but worse than that, I bought into it and bought his jersey. So now I have a Russell and McClain jersey to use as fuses for the fire bombs when the zombies come for me.

So the over/under for Steelers is 10 games......does anyone really think they are going to get even close to that number of wins? More like 7.......

If I lived where you could bet I'd be putting a hefty sum on the under for them......

Wow, that is a lot. I'll have to look at their schedule. I think Miami is 6.5-7.5. I want to bet the over
