I don't know much about engines, but couldn't they just put the V6 Camaro's motor (LFX I think) and end up getting more torque and more hp and a nice MPG?
I've read that the Challenger R/T uses a truck motor, the main difference is the gearing (from truck to car). So if its true, couldn't they just use the engine on the V6 Camaro?

The LFX has a lot less torque and more HP. It's the DOHC vs OHV debate basically.

I know the 4.3 will do most people fine for the " basics" but I was just stating that for me the 5.3 would be better since I have a heavy foot and like to have some pep in anything I drive. Now if a the v6 responds to mods as well as I think it will it should be a full bolt on session away from surpassing the 300hp with ease and even better torque. Just imagine what this motor would be like in a small truck like a s-10/Colorado boy that would be fun.

Your right it would be fun! Assuming you could do such mods as exhaust, intake, headers, tune and such...I'm guessing you could easily see 310 - 320 HP or more and 320 - 330 TQ. Would be a good running V6.

Wow. Where did you find this information?

The V6 community here has seen nice gains in power by running an E85 tune on our cars (direct injection, phase cam and all that very similar to these new engines), but I had yet to see a factory tune where the vehicle makes more power on E85. That is sweet.

It's on the specs sheet on GM's media site.

Wow...so I'm guessing the 6.2 on E85 will be a monster.

I wonder if the 6.2 in the Corvette will inclue a factory E85 tune like these do? I kind of doubt it, but I don't see why not when the power could potentially be increased even further.

There has been custom E85 tunes done for the current V6, which has direct injection and cam phasing just like these engines, and they have gotten great results. Its just a bit of a pain to do, and not good when starting in cold weather.

That's what I've been waiting to see. Now for the 6.2L.

Hopefully it will become a trend to also give power ratings for e85.

Man I'm really hoping that GM puts out an "EROD" version of this motor, I am betting 30MPG in an S10 and a hell of a lot more fun to drive!!
