If you can "rise above" that video, you should be able to see that what Jim Carrey is doing, is provoking gun owners on purpose. (and he is being obnoxious).

His goal obviously was to do two things: Mock someone directly to their face (which he did). Put what he really wants, is to see if his actions lead to some kind of chaos, or conflict.

I am very surprised he would make a video like that. But I also wonder if someone "higher up than him", was involved with that video.
That video is easy to explain. Carrey's ultimate goal was not to provoke anyone, but to create some buzz about himself. His career peaked over 15 years ago when everyone realized his acting talent was limited to cheap, low-brow comedy and toilet jokes, and the world gradually began to forget about him. He made this video more as a desperate attempt to get back with the Hollywood "in" crowd, and have people talk about him on TV and to him at parties again. Having neither the courage nor the talent to do anything of a serious nature, the result was a poorly made spoof of a dead man who had 100 times more talent and accomplishment than Carrey could ever have had in his wildest dreams.

Honestly, while a part of me is upset about Carrey's cheapest of cheap shots, a bigger part of me just feels pity for him.

I don't know, I thought he did great in The Majestic and The Truman Show.

In Ca, you can't use deadly force to stop someone committing a crime against property.
Shooting and killing a car thief as he is driving away would get you arrested in ca.

In California you may not set a mouse trap without a hunting license

In California ALOT of things will get you arrested! In many States, your right and thats why we have idiots like the one the OP sited that continue to break the law. Because they know there are limited consquences. Thank GOD for Texas because when caught it cuts down on the number of repeat offenders....

I wouldn't do it personally but don't feel bad at all. Theft of property means more to me than some people I guess because I don't believe in the "over what, a car" response.

Perhaps that is why auto theft is so high in California.

When it comes to wacky California regs, it has become impossible to tell what is real and what is a joke...so I literally do not know if you are being sarcastic or not.

Although I hear you are allowed to kill all the eagles you want (in the name of protecting them) as long as you own a wind farm.

This is true unless you pay the CARB "extortion fee". Then they bring in some equipment to test the fumes from the bowel movement, take it back for analysis, and send your approval/disapproval in about 12 months or so.

I agree Kaliforniastan is wacko, I am embarrassed to live here.
Used to be a good place to live.
