Anyway... basically same thoughts as this guy... though college full of hot chicks=great

Epic battle scenes, cool tech, big fighting robots, hot chicks, and the camaro looked so good its making me consider one (thats why I came here).

All you need in a summer blockbuster

I actually like the corny-awkward humor (the awkward stuff happens to sam all the time, and he has to deal with which is funny in it's own respect), and i personanly like the fast talking nervous acting :P
'let's have some fun tonight'
'oh y-y-yeah... let's p-play checkers
that one cracked me up... doesn't work in text form though :P

anyway, now i want a camaro >O making my life more difficult :P
I love car shopping, so it's not all bad :P
welcome to the camaro fan club. Although you really have to be a teenager or kid to really enjoy Transformers 2, the car and Optimus are definitely cool and the girls are hot.. That much is certain.. The acting though was as terrible as any kid tv series like one tree hill and smallville. The story/plot was worse.. If you can shut off your brain for the duration of the movie, then I can see it being enjoyable enough.. I can still remember the good summer blockbusters of the food ole days like Independence Day, Men in Black and further back like Raiders, Temple of Doom, LOTR, Ghostbusters and even Transformers 1.. Special effects were great, however the shots were too close to enjoy it for long.. The Camaro should have been on screen more, as it was in the first film.. Ahh what can I say, I am done ranting and raving..

Who was the ORIGINAL cartoon made for????? Not adults.

Now I know that all of the 80s kids think this is THEIR movie.
They grew up watching the cartoon, and this is being given back to them.

I dont know... MAYBE, just MAYBE, this is just Transformers being brought back for TODAY'S children.
Yes, all of us that grew up with the cartoon will hold this movie more near and dear, but I think they are trying to attract the youth with this movie, not so much the 26-34 and up age range.

I think the movie was pretty damn good.
Yeah things could have certainly been a whole hell of a lot better, but with as many issues as they had during filming... I think its understandable.

I just wish I could have seen the movie the way the director intended, before they had to work around Shia's broken hand, and busted face.
BINGO!!!

My wife and I went and saw it today and we were quite happy with the movie.

Movies are not filmed in start to finish order. They do it a little more at random.
I guess that's why it would be a bit confusing then. I wasn't specifically referring to Shia's broken hand, but if that's really the case for staying in Egypt for so long, then we can blame it on him

Yes we would all LOVE to see more, but they had a budget in there somewhere and couldnt go on forever drawing.
They had to cut corners somewhere.

Yeah, again, the fights were drawn. When the camera filmed, there was nothing in front of it except actors and explosions. The transformers where then drawn in around it. So dont blame the camera, there was nothing to point a camera at.

same as above, it is easier to draw the transformers close up, than it is to draw every little bit of detail that is going on.

I blame 2 things here:
1. Shia breaking his hand and making them spend extra budget money to work around him.
2. 1080P HD. Now that they have to be soo much more detailed, they have less room to for errors. They have to master every little possible detail for every frame of the movie
Yeah, I know that's how the Transformers are animated into the movie, but what I meant was that there were more obstructions than I would have liked. For example, the fight scene in the forest. When the fight started the camera was doing a strafing shot behind a row of trees, so you would only catch glimpses of the fight for a while at first. Or the final fight in Egypt between Jetfire-enhanced Optimus Prime (haha ) and The Fallen feat. Megatron. It was like, "Camera, shoot open space, then slowly move behind a few pillars, then move out right when the final execution move is performed." Those probably weren't the directions for the camera crew, but that's what it felt like for a few glorious seconds of fighting. It wouldn't hurt if they could keep the camera pointed at the open space where they would generate the fighting. I know, the "shaky camera" and the "quick glance camera" moves and techniques are used to give off the effect of intensity and realism, but it would be great if they didn't put obstructions in the way.

And it would probably be easier to animate the robots if they didn't have to be close in like macro zoom or something, because they wouldn't have to detail every single moving part, just the limbs and such. Yes, I think it is harder to animate things into a live action environment, but it would be nice (and probably easier on the animators and camera crews) if they could ease up on the close-quarters "Bourne Identity" style camera work and do more wide-angle kind of cinematography. When Optimus transformed out of disguise in the first movie, when he met up with Sam and Mikaela, that was a beautiful example. Not too close, but enough to see the little parts move. To contrast, consider the first scenes in Shanghai where Ironhide went out of disguise. I thought that was too close to see anything.

Now, let me again reiterate that I don't think that those complaints are enough to let down an otherwise enjoyable movie. Whenever a movie is based on something, there will always be people who will be disappointed, because they have their own expectations of how they want the movie to be made. For the Transformers movies, I'm not one of them (yet, maybe) because I didn't watch a lot of Transformers back then to know the storyline and and details. But TF2 is still a good movie for the action and bits of humor throughout.

I can see where you're coming from

It's not a-class acting (an a-class actor for me would be Johnny Depp or George Clooney), but I actually think it's good enough to carry the story and shia's nervous jumpy acting style during awkward moments makes me laugh a little. :P Never seen one tree hill or smallville so I can't comment on that though.

I'd like to meet Megan Fox in real life to see if she's actually a b!tch as people say, because, really, what would they know about her personality? >.>
She seems so sweet waiting at the webcam for Sam XD

I went with a five other friends last night to see it. The group liked it and loved it, I wasn't expecting a Oscar winning movie. I wanted robots, our Camaro and big time action scenes and I got it.

I think everyone heard me when the girl that was hot on Sam said, "oh I love guys in Camaros" and I said... "Oh hell yeah!" My friends laughed.

They made Megan so ultra sweet, made even more hot for her character.

Optimus Prime was a bad ass in this one. Fun movie to watch and laughed a few times cuz cheesy makes me laugh too.

Was it better than the first one? I don't think so but it was a lot of fun to watch.

movie was good...not better than the first imo...and they needed to look at the final scene from the inccredible hulk to show how to properly film a final battle. Sucks that optimus looked so badass but then you couldnt see anything but his face for the rest of the final battle. And dont use the excuse that they filmed it before and that they cant do anything about it. well then that means that bay cannot direct. He should of gone away from the pillars and used more open space to show the size and strength of the more powerful optimus.
overall was a good movie.

I personally loved it. I wanted to watch a simple movie to follow. It has hot chicks, cool computer graphics, lots of action scene's,cool cars, funny scenes and easy to follow. Good enough for me. Guess im just a simple person. I hate complicated plots in a movie. I like to be able to take a leak come back and not have to ask a million questions what happened to i can follow the rest of the movie.
