Right, and if I'm seated in my car, my gun is not going to be on my hip

Commits weekly crime

OK...I know this has a chance to become political...but please try to refrain. It's the pictures that are funny, no matter how you believe.
First, a picture recently came out. It came with a warning. Obviously, the internet doesn't listen. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

OC is legal in Okla, but no one I've seen is doing it. It helps in a case where you may accidentally show, you're not in hot water with a cop having a bad day.

Your input is invaluable.
![]() Maybe some reasoning would help... ![]() And that's another thing. You can still conceal to retain your "element of surprise" if you feel that's important, but you wouldn't have to worry about getting in hot water if you accidentally show.

I may do it some time as an experiment, but I do agree it will likely scare a few sheeple

It could happen. One more point. If said crack head is going to pull off an armed robbery at the store, I don't want to scare him off so he can come back later. He wants to dance, let's dance!

I don't want this to come across as Billy BadAss.... but, isn't that part of the reason we carry?

Yeah... if you're already retarded I would agree.

Open carry would, in my personal opinion, make the guy carrying the gun on the outside a likelier target over the guy standing next to him who's conceal carrying.
Say....a guy goes in to rob a store (and he's GOING to do it regardless), take out the guy who's open carrying right off the bat. BAM! He's out of the picture. No more worries there. Now do what you need to do. Most bad guys would probably turn the other way if they say open carry....most. But, there's always the guy who just doesn't give a shit. So, for those guys....yeah, it does make the person open carrying the premier target over anyone else. Oh...and while it's on my mind.... I STRONGLY feel that if there IS to be open carry, people MUST....WITHOUT FAIL (like, it needs to be LAW), use a level II or III holster. There MUST be a mechanism in place to KEEP the gun IN the holster until the person wants to take it out. I'm not talking about a single snap. I'm talking about something like a Raptor III holster. Hood lock goes down first, then middle finger, then rock the gun back, and remove. And I know most of y'all here understand,......this series of actions literally takes less than a second to get the gun out of the holster. But, for the unknowing criminal who tries to rip it out of your holster, it ain't goin' nowhere. Do that with a single snap or a bucket holster? Gun flies right out into the hands of a bad guy. Try that with a level III? Not going to happen (well, I could take out a gun from a level III that's not on my in the same amount of time, but....again, not the criminal). Here....for YOUR safety and the safety of others IF you are open carrying... ![]() cause this sure as HELL isn't going to work............. ![]() Anyone could walk right up behind you and pull that SOB right out. NOT GOOD> |

And that makes a lot of sense.
But as it stands right now, if you are concealed carrying and you accidentally show and an officer notices, you can get in a world of trouble. I believe if you want to open carry, you should be allowed to (even if it's not recommended for the above reasons), just as I believe you should also be allowed to conceal carry. I just don't like the whole, "you can conceal carry, but if it's not concealed enough or your shirt accidentally gets hung up on something, you're now screwed"

1. Because normal non carrying folks absolutely freak out when someone carries in the open. You will get the cops called on you more than once. 2. It makes you a target for thieves etc. 3. Why let everyone know that you have a gun if there is no cause to do so. Better to fly under the radar than to advertise. 4. See all the other posts |
