Yeah, it was kind of a tough situation..... I've been accused of showing too much mercy before. I probably wouldn't be a very good judge LOL

If Jeanette nominates her father in law, you may have a tough decision this week

Since I have a class tonight I'll post my story early. This is a true one...
There is a church building about 1/2 mile up the hill from me. On Tuesday nights about once a month the ladies auxillary has a meeting. One time they were having some dinner at their meeting. A few of the ladies didn't want to be leaving their purses at the dinner table so they put them in the cupboards in the kitchen area.
A guy sees the lights on and figures there are people there so he decides to see what he can find. He goes in, finds the kitchen. No one is in the kitchen at the moment so he starts to help himself to some of the food there. While he is eating is starts looking around and discovers a couple of the purses. About that time a couple of the ladies come into the kitchen. They start asking him who he is and what he is doing there. He starts backing towards the door.
Long story a bit shorter, he gets out the door and high-tails it. About that time the ladies discover that he has gone thru their purses and the wallets are missing. They call the cops. In the meantime they discover that he has left his backpack in the corner of the kitchen. In the backpack they find his discharge papers from prison - with his home address on the papers.
Here's yer sign dude. Don't let the other inmates steal it.

It all starts innocently enough. You're in the checkout line at your local store when you spot the little Hotwheels car in it's blister pack hanging on the impulse rack. You think to yourself "hey, that kind of looks like my car!" After a moment, on a whim, you take it from it's peg and toss it on the belt between the broccoli and the pop tarts. The rack has lived up to it's name. No big deal.
But soon enough, you find yourself at home looking at it on the windowsill above the kitchen sink, where you placed it last week. You start thinking "I wonder if they have one the same color as my car?"
And so the addiction begins. It always starts small: A casual stroll through the toy aisle during one of your regular shopping trips. The dim awareness that you haven't been in this section since your kid was still actually a kid. A few furtive glances around the pegs reveals none your color, but wait "there's a yellow one!" You take it anyway. You tell yourself it will make a good companion piece to the other one.
It won't be long before the glittering diecast wonders replace groceries as the reason for your increasing trips to the store. When you're satisfied that you've cleaned out your local store, you find yourself making long road trips to mine other stores for their precious potmetal treasure. Walmart shoppers cast quizzical glances at you as they pass by. You look up at them only momentarily with wild, far away eyes, as if to scream "DON'T JUDGE ME!" before returning to pawing through that cardboard aisle display. That Synergy Green ZL1 has to be down there somewhere!
You continue to spiral downward through a whirlwind of flea markets and online trading. The money you were saving for a set of headers vanishes. Your dreams are tormented by visions of Redlines and Greenlights. You've been struck by Johnny Lightning!
Inevitably you hit rock bottom. All roads lead you to a dead end. And before you know it you find yourself in some dirty back alley with some shady dealer. Your dignity gone with all your money. And only one solitary driving thought left in your toy clouded mind: "IF I COULD JUST SCORE ONE PACE CAR EDITION!".......

Okay you old farts, I'm still debating wether to retire early and try to find another job or be miserable at my present job for a few more years. I can't afford to retire completely. On the other hand the writing is on the wall there could be layoffs. The severance pay in April will go from 26 weeks to only 8 weeks. What makes it tough is being at this job for almost 35 years. Any ideas ?
