Lots of people seem to want to race. Some of these people are drving respectable cars and could probably come close to kicking my ass, but most are just people who added a noisy mufler to their cars and who now they they are "cool". Even worse these guys always think they have something to prove.

Do this:

The next time a dweeb is reving his engine and licking his chops at you challenging you to a race, take an agressive stance: Hold your steering wheel at the top so he can see it, drop your right hand to your shifter even if its an automatic, and look like you're ready to race too. Be subtle and cool about it though - after all, you're driving a Camaro. No need to show off.

And now... 3...2...1.... DO NOTHING!

When the light turns green watch watch him redline his engine and drive away like an idiot, while you gently press the gas and drive normally. Don't forget - you already won the COOL. No need to win the "Race". That sucker just spent $10 of gas in 5 seconds, caused $100 worth of damage to his gearbox, and with luck just earned himself a ticket.

Cool Trick!
I used to do that in my 69', once in my friends El Camino he lurched and made the bonehead react and run a light right in front of a cop! too funny

That's actually one of my favorite tricks! I do it to police officers who happen to be next to me @ stoplights all the time. Funny thing is, I think some of them actually think I'm going to peel off and allow myself to get pulled over !

Been doing this since, oh, around, 1969.

I find that just a bit of chirp of the tires at the light REALLY gets them going.

I have had a few real Richard Craniums even run the light cuz they thought I was going to punk them!

Ya know that their fragile little egos can't stand the thought of some bald headed ol' man waxing their a55.

I already did this with a Mustang. The guy rolled down his window and said 'so... you ready to race"

I saw him coming and it was a V6 and im thinking "he cant be serious" but I repliied "no...I only got her two days ago and shes not broken in" but I still gave it the stance that I was gonna launch it. When the lights when green he just flew. I was actually pretty impressed with his performance but I just strolled off the line.'

All the cars that passed me waved and gave the thumbs up.

Its not always all about the launch and who wins the 0-60.

while i would agree with this thread most of the time........sometimes u just gotta prove who the badest dog in the yard is. especially if there's an audience!

just remember, u gotta know what ur opponents got under the hood......

When I do get the Camaro it's going to be faster then most of the cars around here, I won't need to race because I know I'd win
