In most states, if you elect to go to traffic school, the ticket doesn't give you points on your license. That would make sense for the extra bucks. Check it out since it may be worth the extra money, especially if it doesn't get reported to your insurance company.

i got caught hitting 140+ i was going so fast the cop didnt have time to radar me so i got a ticket for going 40 over and i had court and other tickets to pay... considering the fact they put the helicopter and cop cars after me... All said and done one time to show off to friend cost me 1k+... Luckily, not jail time even though i didn't run i was just going to fast to notice them

Thank you for some sensibility.

Federal law affects the whole united states. There ARE NO TICKET QUOTAS. Some people just don't listen. The only "quota" a department can place upon an officer is "traffic contact." Means you have to pull X amount over. It's always such a low number...it's retarded. Five a month. Really? They can NOT place a write X amount of tickets. We have guys who have never written a ticket in their career here. Some don't believe in them. My agency has no quota on traffic contact. Highway Patrol has a five a day contact...meaning warning or citation....and that's the highest I've ever heard of. All they do is work traffic and accidents. No family violence, no alarms....nothing else. Five in eight hours? Cake. Piece.....of cake.

Traffic contact means we want people stopped. What you do is your decision after that.

**rant warning - move along if it pisses you off. Or not. I could honestly not care less**
What is it that a lot people don't understand about speed limits? It's called a speed "limit" for a reason. That means anything over the posted speed limit is speeding. Most LEO's are lenient. I'm over 40, and have never been ticketed for doing anything less than 10 over. Don't speed if you can't afford the ticket.

Ohio is not one of these states. This is where I live.

Not my fault that they choose not to show up.

I don't know what New Yorkers are saying about California. It's definately NOT despressing and it's the best place to live. We have it all here... Beach & Sun to Snow & Mountains. Plus Southern California has the best climate in the nation. What more could you ask for... Let's drive our Camaro All-Year-Round... Woo-Hoo!!!

You're lucky then............here it seems to be the court that tells on everyone... they send letters to the Chief when officers don't show.....and at least with mine it pisses him off.....I know officers here from other depts that don't show up....but thats because either their admin doesn't monitor it or they don't mind losing pay for it.

Pfft. We got that here in South Carolina, too. But we don't have the higher tax rates...and higher prices for just about everything else, too.

SC is great that they cannot mail you tickets based on a photo. At least with our current governor. Hopefully that won't change for a long time, if ever. But they do have traffic cams at stoplights. Not for tickets, but for accident investigations (so far).

But every state/commonwealth has something unique and great to offer. Pick the one you like best and live your dreams! (And drive your Camaro following all applicable traffic laws, of course!)

I don't think this 10 mph buffer stuff is working, at least not with Camaro's. These cars want to run so I need more buffer, say...30 or perhaps 40 mph?

LEO's please make a note of that! Thank you.
