Interesting. I, honestly, haven't followed the V6 FI systems very much at all.

I would definitely think that those results would indicate what sort of outcomes we can expect from an LT1. On paper...the DI is good...the 11.5 CR is bad...and the tuning sounds hard. It'll be interesting!

And that's with a centrifugal set up. Would a tvs even work with hotter intake temps?

Not hating on the v6 guys but maybe now that the v8's have DI it will become more of a focus since most aftermarket companies lean toward v8's because of the larger customer base. Plus another thing that nobody has mentioned is the higher overall height of the new lt1 with a blower do to all the lines in the valley.

It's the Z06 that I'll be interested in hearing about. They are going to have to come HARD with the Z06 since the Camaro has a trim that can beat the current one.

Win Win for the Vette guys.
What Camaro can beat a Z06?

ZL1 turned a better time on the Nurburgring than a 2006 Z06, and pulls the same G-forces in corners. Almost immediately after, though, they came out with the Z07 and Carbon packages for the Vette which turns the car into something just shy of a ZR1...so it's debatable which "beats" which...it's not debatable that they are so close that a single mistake in one can equal the victory of the other.

The ZL1 eclipsed some Z06 trips around the ring.

From what I have read, that 2006 run was from a standing start. The Z06 recently ran a 7:22 IIRC.

No hate taken....you are exactly right. Hopefully with DI becomming a focuse now for the V8 engines, we will break even more ground in this area.

I'm interested to see if the issue is just a matter of understanding the tuning...or getting into the computer in the first place.

Fair enough but it still didn't sit well with Z06 owners.

You know...I was just looking at some pictures....

Could this be the first of many V8 engines out of GM with aesthetically-pleasing valve covers? I mean...there's tons of stuff under the "fake" covers...but they took the inititative to cover it all up!

And...no power steering pump. I think it's safe to assume the Vette will have the same ZF rack as the ZL1 and a couple other cars lately.

Some of you were talking about this not being the higher end motor. I saw something earlier on here saying the 6.2 would come with a 12.5 CR. Maybe that will be the top motor.
