My very close friends and I have a very simple rule...when they invite me over for dinner, I always bring something to add to the dinner or dessert and they do the same when they come to my house. They are a family of 5 and I'm single and they consider me to be family. Friends will NEVER take advantage of each other.

If she balks at it or gets an attitude tell her it’s best if she packs he $hit up be out by sunrise if not ou will begin tossing her crap out in the yard.

Suggestion #2.

If there is a computer she uses around the house, leave your browser showing this thread, and leave it up on the screen so she sees it next time she uses the computer.

I'll help a friend in anyway I can, but when it comes to money...I'm out.... Money makes people do crazy things and easily lose friends over it. A signed agreement should have been made on day 1... Sorry your going through this. Sucks to be the nice guy, But live and learn my friend.

Problem is, as soon as you entered into a financial agreement with her, you became her landlord, not her friend. You have to treat her like you would any other tenant. Don't bring up what she does with her money, because honestly that isnt your business, your only concern should be for the money you are owed.

Shut off the cable, lock the internet and lock the fridge. That should be a wake up call that it takes money to run a household. Maybe flip the breaker to her room and kill the water to her toilet if she has her own bathroom in there. Nurses make good enough money to where they can afford basic living expenses. On a better note, I would draw up a rental agreement first as it seems she doesn't believe she needed to give you the money and may have thought you sprung it on her. Either way, she needs to pay and you can't enable her.

Yeah, nurses do make a good living. I am an RN and I can afford a ZL1, so she can afford 250$ in rent.

Best to ask her to leave. If that doesn't work bag her things up put them out front and change the locks. Unfortunately without a written contract I doubt you have any legal recoarse.

Her stuff, in bags, in the driveway when she gets home. No rent, no place to stay.

I had to do this to a SON! " Tuff love! "

I had the exact same thing happen!

I let a friend move in back in 2000 or so. Same deal. Mooch. He was two months late on rent, ran up a $200 phone bill, then split for a weekend in Green Bay with a girl he barely knew and sprung for a suite with a Jacuzzi! When he came home I still didn't get rent.

The final straw was finding a toolbox and interior parts from his crapbox car in my garage next to my street machine. It finally pushed me to the point I gave him an eviction letter. I never got the back money but the problem went away. He was a brother of a good friend. His brother still came to my bachelor party last weekend.

Long story short? She will not improve. Time to grow up one more notch. You are a landlady now! Better looking than the one on Kingpin, thankfully! LMAO

She is taking advantage of your kindness, and don't think she doesn't know this.
Make her sign a rental agreement or send her packing.

No $ for her share of bills. No roof over her head at night. Simple as that.
