Feelin' a little sad: Pontiac.
I wish they (GM) would consider bringing back the division. Even if it was just a smaller list of cars. Bring back the GTO, Firebird/TransAM, Grand Prix, or and even the Solstice. I've even thought, why not create a performance div? Put the Camaro, Corvette, Firebird, GTO etc in there.

Yes indeed...I miss Pontiac quite a lot.
I might easily have bought a firebird instead of camaro if it had been available. |

Great cars were made by Pontiac sure do love my G8 GT with the room for a couple of friends and the power that can make them wish they owned one...

As far as a complete independent division goes, probably a real long-shot. It would have to be sold at other GM divisions dealers, perhaps at a Chevy dealership. Then it would have to be serviced there as well.
I too sure miss the Pontiac brand, it was the "we build excitement" brand. However, as many things GM, it kind of got lost, instead of building excitement, it starting building the Aztec and Montana minivan. GM could brand some Camaros a Firebird and service it at Chevy, heck that aint much of a stretch of what was happening in the heyday. GMC has been working hard at differentiating itself from Chevy trucks since 1999 when GMC became "professional grade". But they basically are still the same truck, built on the same line. |

That'd be a good start... As far as service goes. It's all just repeat business, isn't it? |

It would be nice if Buick would step up to take the void between Chevy and Cadillac, since this is the only viable option going forward.
Remember the Grand National, that car rocked, came out of out nowhere and took off, especially the 86 and 87 model years. I almost bought the Caddy with the ZLI supercharged engine, but the cost over a Camaro was a whole bunch more and heck, I wanted a mid-life crisis car, to me, Cadillacs are for later in life. |

I still see those little Solstice cars driving around or sitting in a lot somewhere & think those are sweet little cars. They could rebrand those as a Chevy (or even a Buick or Cadillac) like Dodge did with the Neon. And yeah, I know it would compete in a way with the Vette & Camaro but to me it is a totally different car appealing to a different consumer desire.

Now it is "rumored" that Chrysler/Dodge will end the Challenger in place of a "Cuda", short for Barracuda, which by the way, was a Plymouth product. I actually liked the looks of the Saturn Sky better than the Pontiac Solstice, think it was the best looking Saturn product, ever. I have never bothered looking it up, but both must have been produced on the same assy. line with similar parts in their bill of materials (BOM). Originally the Saturn was to be the Japanese small car buster, "a different car from a different company for a different person"...... |

Tran's AM WS6's, 04-06 GTO's, and the 08-10 G8 really made the late model years of the brand stand out and mean something special. That was Pontiac's calling IMO. Nothing wrong with having 4 door cars in the line up too but like cars mentioned above, sporty, performance, and good interior designs & quality would have made Pontiac going into the future.

I remember reading somewhere that it was the name 'Firebird' that would not come back wether Pontiac died or not.
