Got my first ticket in the mail $$$

I got my first ticket in my camaro a couple weeks ago. I was driving from sac to fremont chp said they clocked me doing 83 in a 65 in concord. T
The freaking ticket is 377 or 429 if i choose to do traffic school. On top of that im sure traffic school is prob another 100. I cant believe how expensive tickets have gotten. I figured it would be around 300 Im lookin at about $500 when its all said and done. I dont know about other states but ca is getting ridiculous with there fines!:upset:

Not to add insult to injury, but think of all the mods you could have purchased with that money.

How is the ticket more if you go to the school? Wouldn't they lower it if you went to traffic school

I fell victim to the end of the month quota collection. $130 for 61 in a 55. Cop was sitting at the bottom of a mountain, 4 other cops had 4 other cars lined up, all getting tickets.

In ca if you decide you want traffic school the court charges you an extra fee. I think they figure it a processing fee. That doesnt include what you have to pay the traffic school but the point wont go on your record. Not sure how it works in Ny.

Ticket in the mail What's next?

If you elect driving school, you can do it online at your own pace. Check out this link. I used this school and it was a good option for me. http://www.drivinguniversity.com/

No offense taken. Its not that bad theres alot to do here and the weather is nice most the time but the government here will screw you any chance they get. I lived upstate ny for about a year in whitehall near glens falls. Thats a pretty depressing town. Not sure about the rest of ny. Compared to ny you cant beat the weather here though.

I got one the other day for speeding over the limit, But luckily the Officer was in the Military so he gave me an unclear license plate ticket, Which I will take! But I hear you on the price of tickets, its all mostly to get revenue for the towns now, not about actually teaching you a lesson of why you shouldn't be breaking the law.

I think about it this way, how many times do you speed? and how many times do you get caught? I've come to terms with a ticket every now and then. Tickets in CA have always been that much, $447 for a red light cam ticket.
