There are so many students in default right now they are losing a TON of money. This is a way to recoup part of their losses on that by getting on time payments; and they also work with the schools so they pay less too.

Who is Eligible for Forgiveness?

The Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program is available to anyone employed by a public service company. This includes those who work in law enforcement, government agencies, public health, public education, among others. Even if your position at a company may not seem eligible, that's okay - as long as the company is considered a public service company, you may still qualify.

I currently work for two state institutions and hope to work for the Livestock Care Standards Board in Ohio. Sounds like I might qualify.
