With just the can installed I didn't encounter any smell.I cut the fresh air line today and installed the filter ,cap of both ends.The only connections that was tampered with today was the cutting of the fresh air line and capped off.You don't have to secure those caps with clamps do you.

Yes I have ,also noticed excessive exhaust residue on the rear end panel after the filter instal.

no, shouldn't need any clamps.

you could be smelling oil from the breather. which i believe is normal. as long as you don't see any leaks, you should be good.

You say this might be normal it makes you feel nauseated and also ,felt like my eyes were burning a little from the smell.Wife felt a little sick also so it wasn't just me smelling it.
