my dad went to school with a guy who worked there. got me a fender for my 68 later.
i love the 3rdgens so much, but if i ever had another i'd have to correct a few things:
subframe connectors, strut tower brace, aftermarket rear susp pieces, softer shocks, better seats.

Definitely subframe connectors. They tweaked so easily. I'd do a roll bar too

F-bodies moved to Van Nuys around 1987 I believe. My dad got transferred up the highway to GM's parts supplier, which later became Delphi Automotive. Spent the rest of his time with them and then transferred back to GM to retire.

i drove 3rdgen Z's for so long. got sick of it by the end. just so hard to live with. ride like a dump truck. stiffen up the chassis and put in softer shocks would help.
