"when" is right. I guess, I should have said "if" they will release their lap time "when" they complete their balls-out run. My guess, no if the time is higher than the ZL1's and yes if better.

There are rumors floating around of unofficial 7:35 and 7:30 runs and they are still shooting for more. They want to embarrass the ZL1.

That's not necessarily true. The 'ring is more than big enough to have some portions of the track wet while others are dry.

That was the rumor last year. Awesome if proven true. We'll see. Who was it that challenged Ford last winter to a race in the ring? I'd be a little worried now that weather is clearing up and Ford is back there testing.

I'm sure they are gonna come out guns blazing. It's just sad that Ford didn't do these sort of performance things with the Mustang until the 5th Gen came out. Before the Camaro came out again Mustang was pretty piss poor. This will be interesting.

The '03/'04 Cobras and Mach 1s were both well rounded cars for their time. The Cobra in particular. Quote:

No consistant in-car... Makes me think this is more of an advertorial for its fans, brought to you by MotorAuthority. BTW, won't that car be lovely in the damp/rain, as seen near the start when it fishtails with part-throttle? Where's the PTM? Reminds me of the "unprepared" @ VIR, awhile back... These cars are NOT toys, folks. |

Good point. I'm wondering if this new model will as difficult to drive as reports of earlier models. It sounds as though the ZL1 promotes confidence in folks new to cars with this much power. (me, for example). Thoughts?

Really, you're trying to bash the car for everything. Go ahead, it'll be a bitch to drive in the rain.... most RWD powerful cars are..hell,,,,,if I'm stupid enough to be aggressive in my GT I can put it just about anywhere but where I want it to go. As far as the confidence inspiring power of the ZL1, it's still a car. Cars still get sideways when you drive like a tard (and I'm not suggesting anyone will, I'm just stating that a computer can't make up for mistakes of a certain caliber.) And actually, I don't recall the '11/'12s being 'difficult to drive.' They're relatively crazy when driven like a mad man, but most magazines praised the GT500 for the HUGE improvements they made. Nowhere near the smoothness of the ZL1 now, but still impressive. |

Goodness. Can't catch a break. My comment was genuine and innocuous. Why get defensive so quickly? My comment about the difficulty driving 500's comes from what I've heard and read. Not the best way to get info, yes? So, educate me!

Was simply stating what I'd heard from magazine reviews ![]() The wet comments were not directed at you though. Unless you think comparing high performance driving in the rain is a good way to compare the two cars
