Damn, Orthopaedic surgery has come a long way... I was 18 when I first tore up my knee racing motorcycles...
Military Hospital, I was an air force dependant in an army hospital, and the chief surgeon was also air force... Two weeks in the hospital, 7 months in a hinge cast, and I wore a lennox hill knee brace for several years... I've had 5 tune ups since then, for bone spurs and worn cartilage... and one additional new injury about 8 months ago... same knee... so 7 surgeries in total to my left knee.. Several docs have mentioned they would like to do a knee replacement, but in my line of work, that would signal the end... So, I tolerate it and carry on for now... Good Luck with the recovery and do what that PT, your wife, instructs...
