More power can always be added to make it even, but what I would like to know is the amount of money that would be needed to make any of the Mustangs beat or match the ZL1 at the road courses.
Worst case scenerio, i guess the cost of the track pack and pp... What is it 4k or something like that?... But hell for all we know seeing how the 13 pretty much comes with the 11-12 pp suspension standard, it might not even need the tp and pp to compete on a roadcourse...

Hell even if it needs the extra 4k to keep up on a roadcourse so what? It's a couple grand more than the Z, big freaking deal...Look at what your getting out of the car that the Z doesn't have...

662hp, 630tq, 200+mph, mid 11's, hand built/forged motor, carbon fiber driveshaft, ect...

How much money will it take for the Z to hang with the Shelby at the strip or on the street?

Who cares if one is a few seconds faster/slower around some roadcourse anyway? What difference does it make?

If the GT500 outran a Z on some roadcourse, would that make the Z a piece of crap? Does that mean it would suck? If the outcome was reversed does that mean the GT500 is slow? I would certainly hope not...

Fact is you still are left with 2 very badass cars with a whole lot of HP and can whoop up on 99% of the cars they come across. Is that not enough for some of you?

This road racing/ auto cross stuff is getting retarded. Since when do people meet up and say hey man lets go to VIR and run em, i bet i could take you... This crap is only for magazines and the people who read them...

To be honest with you, it doesn't even matter how fast they go at the strip... Fact is at the end of the day you still got a bad ass car with 580hp and a badass car with 650/662hp or whatever, and thats awesome enough in itself...

Lets all just sit back and enjoy these beasts and stop bickering back and fourth about magazine lap times...

If most of the new power is from addnl boost, it would stand to reason that pushed to the limit boost wise, ie.. pullying down, it won`t make much more power than the previous model if both are pushed to their max safe boost level. Stock for stock big diff but both modded to max safe boost might not be that much difference.
I read its somewhere around 15 pounds of boost but I could be mistaken.

based on reviews the ZL1 will be easier to drive around a track. Maybe an expert driver can get a GT500 to be faster, but for the rest of us the ZL1 is the easier drive.

Hurry up and get your 1500 miles so you can let us know when you have to shift out of 1st gear.

Did anyone else catch the fact that turd left the grill out of the car on purpose?

High HP #'s in one ugly skin.

I'll pass.

with boltons and similar supercharger with pulley the current GT500's are already producing 700rwhp. so theres still lots of room to grow. Im sure it being a 5.8 will help as well.

That car is very hot looking. They fixed the back end, painted the rocker moldings and went back to the fat stripes. I think it's the best looking car on the road today along with the ZL1.
They are both in a class by themselves.

How about we let the late, great Grumpy Jenkins, drag racer extraordinaire and NHRA's #8 Greatest Driver of all time, share something profound:

Soon a day will come when a zl1 and a 2013 gt500 line up. At that time and many times like it in the future who will feel the most secure about winning?

I can here it now .......... if we were on such and such road course ide hand it to ya.

I have enjoyed my camarofor the most part, but i think i will be switching to the mustang over the zl1. Plus it will help me get a better deal on the raptor.
