so if i hear this crap with a Civic how is an Camaro SS?
So the weather is getting really nice, i got my rims on. And yesterday a 19 year old ask me "Can your car spin tires?" Today 2 teens on bmx bikes tell me to "light em up" and make a circle motion with their arms. All my Si has is 18" ADR rims, and an Injen CAI. Stock exhaust (but on the Si it sounds really good).
My point is oh dear if i hear this crap with my 6 year old Civic SI, how is it gonna be with a Camaro SS? Is everyone going to be trying to race me at every light? Are people going to ask me if i can spin tires? this is my car

You need to get the Camaro experience. You'll never go import again.

As for the OP, yes you will get people wanting you to "show off". I get it all the time, but I've learned to get used to it as a normal thing. Sometimes its fun to get lots of attention, while other times you get tired of it. Either way, the Camaro is great. You have a pretty clean SI, so I can see where you get attention from. |

Yes! People will tell you to rev your engine, do a burn-out, try racing you, etc. I get it all of the time. 99% of the time I just laugh, and ignore them.
Nice looking Si, by the way. ![]() Quote:

Yes, you will get that kind of thing constantly with the SS. I get it DAILY, both from pedestrians AND other drivers! And yes, sometimes it can be VERY tempting, even during times when no one is urging you to.
However, trust me---you do not want to give in to the temptation because if you do, and blue lights suddenly appear behind you, you go from being SSuper cool to SSuper fool as they watch you getting a ticket. ![]() That said, enjoy your SS; owning one is a BLAST!!!

Whether it was my former RX-7 or my current Camaro (with the RX-7 actually being the faster of the two), it always happens. I keep the straightest face and keep looking straight ahead. It pisses them off more, haha
btw, nice color, my brother's SI is that same color, by far my favorite on that model

I get less people trying to race me in my Camaro as opposed to my old HEAVILY modified Maxima.I get 100x more compliments at stop lights and gas stations (etc) than I did with the Max though.
I also get a different class of cars trying to race me. In the Maxima it was mostly Hondas (sis, teggys, hatches, ex coupes) plenty of VWs and Infinitys mostly otrher imported kinda garbage cars. In the Camaro its much nicer class of car, I think Ive literally mostly been challenged by Porches. Twerked some Boxters (older ones) and a few Carreras. Lots of attention from other nicer muscle/pony cars, challengers and stangs. Most Hondas that pass me now seem to be afraid? Funny too because I only trap 101 in this car and my Max weighed just a hair under 3000 pounds making roughly 380 HP (on nitrous) so the Max was much faster, probably a mid to low 12s car. Never got to track it though. |

The answer is Yes.
Yes. People similar to the photos below will follow your every movement no matter where you drive. I promise this is a fact and 99 percent of the members on this website have had this happen to them. You have no idea what you are getting into if your daily driver is a new Camaro SS or the base model Camaro LS. Everyone on earth will notice you. People with "any" kind of car or truck will try to race you and beg you to spin the tires, or they will want to talk to you for one hour about what kind of mod's they think you should do to the car. Be ready for your new lifestyle. Also do not be fooled. There are many people dressed as "yuppie types", who look nothing like the people below, but they ACT the same way when it comes to driving fast, mods, racing, etc. Be prepared. Be nice. Funny story. Had someone 'play' with me on the highway one night while the wife was with me. She gave me that 'don't you dare' look which just made it worse. I stepped on it and her angry comment to me was "you threw my earing back against my head". BUT she could not help the proud feeling seeing the jerk watch my tail lights.
