My thoughts as well....

I like the pictures too...they do have a charm to them as well as they do resemble an old western movie.
I love the mountains in the background ...to me it has somewhat of a serene look and feel to them.

Enjoyed the pics, thanks. Looks like a lot of the beggars were on vacation instead of blocking traffic

Las Vegas is the closest big city at 130 miles away. There are several small cities in close range:

Bullhead City/Laughlin 15 miles
Kingman 30 miles
Lake Havasu City 30 miles

Basically Oatman is in the population center of Mohave County, its amazing something like it hasn't been swallowed up by modern America. There are so many of these towns just laying around in Arizona. Some are in better condition than others, I guess arid environment preserves them.

Up until Route 66 was rerouted in 1952 this was the main road from Chicago to Los Angles. I couldn't even imagine trying to get over this pass with the traffic of the time coupled with the fact it would have to be in likely a pre-war car. So many people must have driven straight off the side.

Just had the one and he was well out of the way by the time I drove through. The folks at work call him El Burro Camaro.

They are everywhere out here in Arizona. Jerome, Tombstone and Tortilla Flat come to mind off the top of my head.

One of my favorite rides back in the day was hitting Canyon lake and getting a burger down in Tortilla flat's.
I got a wish list to do in the next two months. I've already hit Jerome and Oatman but I got to hit Tortilla Flat. I've been pushing for our local group to do some cruises, nobody seems interested because of dirt parking.
