I currently own a 2001 Camaro SS, custom paint Hugger orange with 59k miles. I babied this car from day one. Last week in a bad rain storm I hit something getting on the freeway and my rear end spun to the right, I was facing traffic doing about 45 and sliding across lanes, I spun the wheel to the right and just I thought I had missed a ll the cars I starred into the headlights of a white car about 20 yards off, I had the lane left and decided I didnt want to be t-boned so I hit the gas and crossed the last lane right in a concrete divider. So I crossed 4 lanes of traffic managing to miss every car and when the 4 CHP's, 2 fire engines and EMT's showed up the couldnt believe I was driving it. I only fractured ribs and bruised up but I was alive! My baby save my life!

I am not in the final negoating process of a new 2011 Camaro SS Convertible. Nobody wants to come below 39k around here but I found a former Service member ( I am active Navy) and they are going to sell me my new baby for 32k. I will be doing the paper work this weekend.

I will be asking you guys a ton of questions since all my deployments has keep me out of the Gen 5 scene. Its good to meet you all as I have been reading various post you this seems to be a great forum for us Camaro people.

Ouch !!!! This is exactly how I ended up here. I had a 2002 SS with 41k miles on it that was stolen and totaled. I had no intentions of getting a 5th Gen until that happened.....

If I was PCS'ing at the end of the year I would get a new front clip and restore her.
It's not the 2SS, but I was firm in not wanting leather in a convertible, and didnt care about the extra bells and whistles, but when they found out that I am active duty and just got back and the manager is prior USMC, he said plain and simple I will eat the loss if I can show him I have financing already done and whatever the letter says I am approved for he will do. I called my credit union they faxed over the letter for 32k and he shook my hand and said done deal, sticker on it was $42995. I have to cover tax etc out of packet but the cost is for 32 K so I would be nuts not follow thru.

Now I am looking for Hugger Orange strips to put on her in memory of my 01.

The dealer should be able to help you with the stripes. If not there are a ton of aftermarket stripes and designs...

I got the 45th because of the red stripes. My 02 was red.....

Glad your OK......and....... Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wive's, husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.



oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

The stealership wants $500 for the strips, it doesn't have remote start and I asked about it out of curiosity and it was also $500! I stopped asking and I will do the little extra's myself. The great deal stopped at the car and I don't want to push my luck.
